Ilfosol-3 Film Developer is an enhanced, one-shot updated version of Ilford's Ilfosol-S. It has been created to suit the needs of photographers who prefer to use slower speed films such as Pan-F, FP4 Plus and Delta 100 Professional.
This is a fine grain and ultra sharp developer when used with films processed at full speed. However, you may use it at a 1:14 dilution for other films with only a minimal loss of image quality. It is supplied as a concentrate in economical 500ml bottles and is diluted (typically at a ratio of 1:9) for one-shot use.
Note! Not recommended when using re-use techniques or replenishment systems

Comments about Ilford Ilfosol-3 Film Developer for Black and White Film (500ml):
This is the first/only developer I've used so I have nothing to compare it to but it works beautifully with hp5. I love the results and the fact that it comes in 500ml bottles because I don't get to develop my film too often.

Comments about Ilford Ilfosol-3 Film Developer for Black and White Film (500ml):
Here in SW Louisiana temperature can be difficult to control especially in my dark room, in summer. Ilfoso-3 is not effected by swings of temperature. Chill it 3 or 4 degrees below recommended, no problem. Let rise problem 3 or 4 same file results.

Comments about Ilford Ilfosol-3 Film Developer for Black and White Film (500ml):
Reason I bought Ilford developer is because I use Ilford films and wanted the whole package from them. I first cooked my film at a slight higher temp than what was on the box 68F I used 72F and ran it for 6 minutes instead of 5 the negs came out slightly grainy but it was all my fault. I would recommend this product to anyone starting their own BW film processing, it is simple to mix 1-9 for negatives or 1-14 for prints. Just mix enough to cover your roll use and discard- simple.

Comments about Ilford Ilfosol-3 Film Developer for Black and White Film (500ml):
Ilfosol-3 has become my go-to developer. I have used it with Tmax, Tri-x, Pan-X, and several off-brand films. I use 'The Massive Development Chart' to get times for this developer with different films.
I dilute at 1:14, minimal agitation and the results are super smooth tones with fine grain (depending on film). I routinely push Tmax 2 stops and the results are outstanding, even on 120.
Mix only what you need to use right then. The rest can be stored. Honestly, I've stored the concentrate for 6 months after initial opening and it's still spot-on.

Comments about Ilford Ilfosol-3 Film Developer for Black and White Film (500ml):
Ilford's liquid concentrate allows me to mix up one roll at a time at room temperature and develop immediately; the concentrate will stay usable for weeks after opening. A better solution all around than powders. One 500ml bottle is good for about 10 rolls of film.

Comments about Ilford Ilfosol-3 Film Developer for Black and White Film (500ml):
I've avoided using Ilfosol-3 because the bottle and spec sheet give only the developing time for FP-4 at 75 deg F, and I can't be maintaining one chemical at 75 deg, and the others at 68 deg. I don't know why Ilford makes things so difficult. But then I read that at 68 deg, Ilfosol-3 and FP-4 require 6 1/2 minutes. Now I get excellent FP-4 results--smoother than my usual DD-X, and at 1:9 mix, cheaper than DD-X. I am very pleased with this product.
