Numark X1USB Compact Digital Scratch Mixer with USB Audio I/O
The X1USB from Numark is a two-channel, scratch-style DJ mixer that features multiple USB ports and all of the essential tools needed to create a dynamic mix. The USB section is easy to use because no software drivers are needed to connect to Mac or PC computers, you just plug-and-play. The USB ports enable you to use your computer like a DJ deck. Just play music on your computer with the software of your choice, assign a USB port on the X1USB to a channel, and mix away! You can also use the USB ports as outputs. This way you can record your set into a computer using recording software.
This mixer isn't a one trick pony; there are a lot more features you can tap into to let your creativity run wild. You can switch the user-replaceable crossfader between a smooth fade for mixing, and a fast cut for scratching. There is also a reverse switch, which swaps the channels from one side to the other in an instant. There is even a sub-harmonic bass frequency knob that will allow you to add some big, round bass whenever you need it.
Extra effort was put into the X1USB to allow it to provide the highest sound quality possible for an entry-level DJ mixer. It features a digital 24-bit audio path that won't add any distortion or noise to your music. Peak limiters are included in the Master and headphone outputs that will prohibit accidental clipping and distortion. With USB connectivity and its creative controls, the X1USB offers lots of power for any kind of DJ.

This product lives up to the hype. Out of the box, it performs like a classic D.J. mixer which was a breath of fresh air for an old school D.J. like myself. I was relieved when I plugged it into my computer and everything went right. Instantly, I was able to mix audio from several digital and analog sources. It's a great feeling to be able to mix my turn table, my DVD player, my ASIO DAW and windows media player all with the same unit without any error messages, feedback loops, or latency issues.
