Does exactly what it is suppose to do. I was concerned that it was too short by looking at the pics, but it is actually a perfect fit.

Got this thread adapter to mount my new Manfrotto 322RC2 GRIP ACTION BALL HEAD on my old Slik u212 tripod. Slik uses a 1/4" thread, Manfrotto uses 3/8" thread. Easy to install, strong, should hold up just fine.

Pretty simple device but it was essential to converting the male threads on my tripod (1/4") to the female threads on my ball head (3/8").
I was unable to locate one of these locally so I turned to B and H. They never fail to have what I need.
I installed the device on my tripod and threaded on my ballhead. It worked great. I did notice when removing the ball head that the the GS5000 adaptor also wanted to unscrew. I applied two drops of Loctite (Blue) to the threads and haven't had anymore trouble. It works great and the blue Loctite will allow me to remove the adaptor in the future if i need to.

If You are using a Gitzo Monitor platform with any other tripod you will need this 3/8 to 1/4 adapter. Nothing special about it and gave it 4 stars because of the price. A bit expensive for an adapter.

Great for adapting those 1/4" tripod threads to 3/8"
It is small, and expensive but it does the job well. You will want to get some locktite, or other adhesive that temporarily binds the threads of your tripod and adapter, otherwise you may try to pan and have your head unscrew.

I'm a stock photographer using the BH2 on a monopod for events, etc.
This ballhead is well made, easy to work, and holds a D300/zoom/powergrip without loosening.
The slightly rough feeling to the ball and minor paint chipping do not affect the overall function of the head.
Great product at a great price.
