Olympus xD-Picture Cards (Type M+) are compact and durable; reusable and removable digital media that provides high storage capacities for high resolution images. They also offer compatibility with most xD-compatible devices and are the only xD-Picture Cards to support the Panorama function found with Olympus digital cameras.
xD-Picture Cards keeps your photo, movie and other files safe and sound so you can enjoy them any way you want (viewing, sharing, slideshows, etc.) and any time. The compact size lets you carry it anywhere and because it's compatible with many reader/writers, you can download data to a computer or another device in a jiffy.
The Type M+ xD-Picture card is compatible with all xD-compatible cameras and is 1.5 times faster than the previous Type M card. The increase in speed may be useful in sequential shooting of digital stills and in the recording of high-density video with Olympus cameras.

This odd format was an unfortunate decision by Olympus for their (otherwise) excellent pocket cameras. There are other manufacturers of this card but only this particular card is capable of doing panoramic scene capture with the Olympus cameras. You'll need a card reader too, since no computer comes with a built-in reader for this type of card. If you want the camera (and I did) then you'll have to use this card.

Does what its supposed to do
It's fine for Olympus point and shoot cameras but I wish they used a standard form memory card. Compared to SD cards, these are expensive. Largest size it comes in is 2 GB.

Plenty of memory for my Stylus Tough 8000. Also I think it is necessary to have a card similar to this to use the combine in camera panoramic.

For traveling away from upload stations, a 2GB card has enough room for me to snap away without worrying that I'll have to go thru deleting before I can take more, or miss a photo I really want.

Comments about Olympus 2GB xD-Picture Card (Type M+):
I inherited an old olympus camera in my new job. It's old card held about 30 pictures, so I was pleased to find this card with massive storage capacity at a reasonable price. While I would not necessarily recommend the camera (if it were even available), the card serves its purpose.

The price was just right. [...] Memory card works perfectly no different if I had ordered from the company and paid a lot more for it. Needed for extra memory space for Pre-K move up ceremony for grandson. Will be back here for other accessories. Thanks!

Had this card for about 2 weeks now and it works well, no issues so far. Fast and reliable, which is all we really expect from a memory card, right?

Comments about Olympus 2GB xD-Picture Card (Type M+):
Good product but Olympus has limited the capacity to 2GB, doubling the capacity to 4GB would benefit the user to capture more photographs and extended or multiple video clips.
