You can easily attach it to a regular belt (up to 1 3/4" wide). But if you use, say, Lowepro waistbelt, then it can be attached only to a regular belt part, not to it's modular slots, because the holster clip is too wide (2 3/4") to fit Lowepro slots. But you can split the clip with metal cutters, if you wish, and then it should fit any waistbeld, and accomodate 2 slots. The clip is made from very rigid and slightly flexible plastic.
I mostly wear it on regular belt, or on right side of Lowepro Specialist 85AW bag, and it is very convenient to use with 1 arm. The strap can be easily adjusted to fit the diameter of your tripod/monopod (it uses Velcro for length adjustment, and quick connector to lock/release the pod). I tried it with monopod Gitzo Traveler GM2560 (any monopod with leg diameter from 5/4" to 2.5" should fit easily). I also tried it with 2 tripods: Gitzo Traveler GT-1540T, and Gitzo Systematic GT3540LS with GS3510S center column. Both Travelers were a great pleasure to wear: very nice balance, fast and easy to use. The same would be with any other regular tripods, IMO (Gitzo says any tripod or monopod Series 0-3 would fit). However, with Systematic tripods there is small inconvenience: they have much wider base plate, which is a little too wide for this holster. Therefore, when I use them together, I have to put the holster strap around the tripod not near the base plate, but approx. 4" down, where legs are closer one to another. As a result, the tripod is located a little too high, but nothing really bothering.
The anchor clip on top of holster is of great use if you need steady support, but have no space or time to expand your pod. Unlock the pod, and put one of it's leg ends into the anchor clip. You've got a great steadycam in 1 sec.

I purchased from B&H recently and try it on my belt for few times.

This is greatly innovated, make carrying "light" tripod a breeze.

However when putting any tripod over 4.4 lbs(several series 2 tripod and almost all series 3 and above), the tripod wobbles quit abit and start pointing outwards (very uncomfortable).

The rubber construction is very insecure for the above situation, almost feel like its going to break anytime.

Lot of places to improve, especially the comfort/secure-attachment.

    Not the ideal holster

Comments about Gitzo GC3320 Tripod and Monopod Holster:

This holster works well for a monopod or a light-weight tripod. With my 5 lb. tripod the holster flops out with the weight so that the tripod ends up hanging lopsided, which is quite uncomfortable for walking.

Comments about Gitzo GC3320 Tripod and Monopod Holster:

No need to carry the tripod everywhere, especially for HDR photography. I can walk with the tripod gently moving over my hip instead of carrying it on my backpack, over my shoulder, or just in hand. For long field trips, with a lot of walking, this is the gizmo to have. I use it with my Induro tripod. No slipping, fits two legs, only the third leg is "outside" of the holder, increasing the stability.

Comments about Gitzo GC3320 Tripod and Monopod Holster:

After getting ser.1 6x traveler kit it became pretty evident that compact nature of the tripod which is what you actually pay the big bucks for (besides all the phenomenal other features) would actually benefit from a robust carry-around system. In my personal experience this holster design is perfect and allows to take advantage of the tripod portability to the max.

The unit is lightweight and solidly built, has adjustable holding strap, comfortable to wear. I was a tad weary at first because clip-on did not secure with a loop that you see on some other belt systems. So the concern was it would be easy for it to slip off or be pulled off (theft). Turns out, not the case at all. The back of the lever smartly has "bumpers" which effectively make removal of the holster an "educated" effort. It's comforting to know, but I still would like to see some type of velcro closure (perhaps in the future model)

Overall, it's very well built, and while it seems expensive at first, with benefits of use and growing appreciation the price tag is well worth it. I clip it on a side of my thinkTank retrospective or the belt. It does exactly what it promises to do without weighing me down. What's not to love. Very happy with this accessory.

Comments about Gitzo GC3320 Tripod and Monopod Holster:

I use a tripod and monopod mainly for macro and wildlife photography. The tripod performs its standard function and the monopod helps support the weight of the camera/lens whilst limiting unwanted camera movement compared to pure handholding. My tripod and monopod are carbon fibre and this review is based on their lightweight characteristics.

Over the years, I have designed and used several accessories for carrying either my tripod or monopod clipped to a Think Tank or Lowe Pro photographer's belt. My DIY efforts were geared towards holding the tripod/monopod reliably, but allowing a quick docking/undocking operation; easy but safe attachment to a photographers belt; restricting the flop of the tripod/monopod so it would not trip me up, bruise my leg or stick out too much.

I started off by modifying various tool belt holders and even used the Spider Pro system, but each had its drawbacks. Then I saw the Gitzo tripod and monopod holders – these appeared to offer all the features and functionality I had been dreaming off. So, I ordered one of each and upon their arrival, they exceeded all my expectations and easily out-performed all my previous DIY efforts. I remained glad to have gone through my DIY process, for it gave me a better appreciation at how well designed and built these Gitzo accessories are. The way they clip to a belt, the design and materials used, the tripod/monopod docking and undocking procedure and the positive, easy to operate securing strap seem to have realised my dreams of how such an accessory should perform.

Their price, compared to the tool belt holders purchased in various hardware stores, is very attractive and provided they stand up to the wear and tear of normal usage, they are excellent value for money.

These may seem a lot of words to write about what appears to be a trivial accessory, but when I discover a product that works so well and so perfectly meets my needs, then I am happy to shout this from the top of a mountain!

Comments about Gitzo GC3320 Tripod and Monopod Holster:

I got this to use with my Lowepro camera bag, which has an add-on system so you can temporarily or permanently expand your amount of storage space by adding lens containers, bags, bottled water holders, card holders, etc. to the sides of the camera bag.

I needed some way to transport my tripod when travelling by plane and walking around doing nature/landscape/city shoots, so I got this holder to use with the add-on system of my camera bag. Like a previous review said, you can cut the plastic belt tab in half (and cut a couple centimeters out of the center) so it works with the Lowepro system. I used a box cutter to do this.

It works well on my bag! My tripod is a bit heavy/large for it, since it is a series three and has an off-center middle column, but it works. I haven't come across any other solution to flying or walking around with it with my choice in camera bags (non-backpack) and it works well for my needs.

Was skeptical but I had been carrying my Gitzo 1531 using an Optec strap. Along with the camera bag strap and the camera strap that was three straps around my neck. Not a very comfortable or convenient arrangement. Well did my first hike using the holster yesterday and it was awesome. The tripod was only in the way when I needed to kneel down, but it was so easy to remove it didn't matter. I feel I've finally got a solution for carrying my tripod on the trail.

I mostly use the GC3320 with my GT-1541T tripod and Photoclam PN-33 ball head. I am pleasantly surprised by how well it works with this combo. Have also used it with my 2 series Gitzo. I'd be somewhat hesitant to try it with a tripod weighing as much as a 3 series, or tripod that is much longer - although I suppose it depends on how/where you are going to use it. Overall I'm very happy with this holster and take my Traveler with me a lot more because of it.

It works with my GT2541 tripod with Arca Swiss Monoball Z1 ballhead. The clip and adjustable velcro strap was a little odd to get acquainted with, but I straightened things out on the first expedition.

I also have a Lowepro DryZone Rover backpack, which can also hold the tripod. For treks with frequent tripod use, I prefer the faster access provided by this holster, but for treks with more hiking and less tripod use, I prefer how the backpack keeps the tripod completely out of the way.

Very useful when shooting with Canon EF 300mm f2.8 and monopod. When you choose to shoot without the monopod, just slip it in the holster. Very well constructed.

Stumbled across this product when surfing the BH website. I thought it looked like an interesting product and decided to get one. Used it for the first time at a college baseball game and it was nice to be able to carry a monopod at my side when my camera was disconnected. I like it and have recommended it to friends.

Comments about Gitzo GC3320 Tripod and Monopod Holster:

I bought it to hold my monopod vertically when walking through a crowd. I does that just fine. I was surprised to find that there is also an anchor for the base of the monopod when holding it up in the air. Works great! A nice surprise.
