Interfit Super Cool-lite 9 Two Light Fluorescent Octobox Kit (110-120VAC)
This is an Interfit Super Cool-lite 9 Two Fluorescent Light Kit with two Octobox softboxes, adapter rings, bulbs and light stands. It's is a cool-running, nine-bulb fluorescent flood light which uses 9 near daylight (5200k) balanced fluorescent lamps, equivalent to 1000 watts of tungsten lighting per head.
Interfit Pro-Range Octoboxes allow the creation of "wraparound" lighting effects. Their narrow profile is ideal for use where studio space is at a premium.

Note:Compact fluorescent bulbs can take up to 5 minutes to reach full brightness.

long video shoots. You can adjust how many bulbs are on making it easy to control the lighting. Con: Stands are a bit light for the size of the fixture. They can get top heavy. Be sure you position the legs so one is pointing the same way the head is pointing. They can be easily bumped and knocked over if you set them too high. Use sand bags and be careful around them. A good value for the price.

I purchased 2 sets of these lights based on the reviews. Within 15 minutes of plugging them in, one light started smoking/popping. I returned that set of lights for another.[...].I used my 2nd set of lights this weekend for about 3 hours. Yet another light started smoking/popping. Now I have to return the 2nd set. I'm not within 30 days, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to send back to the original manufacturer (which means it's going to cost $$ for shipping).50% of my lights have failed.This is not acceptable.

My unit smoked and melted after having it on for an hour. This was one of the first times i used it, however, it was more than 3 months after i bought the unit. disappointed, as this was not a cheap purchase!

I am shooting both video and stills with this set up and first day of shooting went very well. Set up was like putting up a tent for the second time, but once the light boxes were formed and mounted we were ready to go. Nice Even lighting throughout.
The only drawback is the light stands are not beefy enough to hold higher than 5 feet or more without fear of tumbling over...as others have mentioned what is needed are sand bags or what I use are exercise weights ( 10 or 20#) wrap arounds.

For the price, quality and power, it's a very good choice. I was surprise to see how good was the packaging. I bought 2 kits and no bulbs (36 total) was broken on reception. It's a nice kit for portrait and tabletop photo shoot or video. I recommend it for sure!

Considering what they cost, I think they're a great set of lights. The stands in this kit aren't the right ones for the weight and it gets more iffy the higher you go. Definitely get better stands. The reflectors are a nice size but can't be connected to the unit if all the light bulbs are screwed in. I had to wear gloves to screw the bulbs in after reflector was attached making it hard to just hold the bases of the bulbs. The octobox is a decent size but the build quality is poor. It was pretty easy to figure out how to put the octobox together but it still is a poor design. But then again, for a little over $500, I'd say for the light output and options, great buy. If you have a bigger budget, definitely go for something with better quality and easier setup. Also, now I have to figure out the best way to transport this kit when I need to and no cases of any sort are provided. So great for someone with a studio who stays in one location, not so great for someone like me who can move around a lot. I know they don't compare in build and price, but I've been on shoots with the Kino Diva's and those are excellent lights.

This light set offers a lot of light at a reasonable price. They do put off more heat than some of my other sift boxes, but they are half of the cost. Setting up the soft boxes are more difficult than other units I have used and no instructions are provided, but I was able to get it set up without issue.

Used for training videos.
The lights put out daylight wavelength which provides for an easy white balance. We are able to turn them "up" by turning on more bulbs when we need more light, and "down" when we don't. Even if all the bulbs are turned on, the kit stays nice and cool. These lights are great, solid but not heavy, and the price is right.

I use these to shoot HD Vids of products mostly for stock footage and it seems to be working great. The five stars are for the lights. The stands you def. need to sandbag cause they're not that sturdy. But all in all a great purchase!

Each unit throws about 1000 watts of light and the switchs allow you to dial in the amount that you need. The stands are light in weight but sturdy. I think that they are adequate, but would use sand bags in a high traffic situation or outdoors. In tight quarters I use them with just the diffuser. I am very glad that I got them!

I had a 2 day television commercial shoot utilizing HMI's and our new Interfit Super Cool Lite-9's.
WHAT A GREAT ADDITION TO OUR COMPLIMENT OF LIGHTS.
WOWIE WOW WOW.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I HAD A VERY FAMOUS HOLLYWOOD DP OF FEATURE FILMS SHOOT THESE SPOTS WITH ME, HE WAS SO IMPRESSED, HE ORDERED 4 SETS OF THEM RIGHT AFTER OUR SHOOT.
OK, the only thing Interfit needs to do here, is make a STURDY and Durable case for them.
also, the stands that come with the package are less than desirable.
the 5 stars is for the lights only. not the stands.
The hooding and soft "Octobox" is also deserving of 5 stars.
I am ordering up another set right now.
