The EX150 MK2 Three Monolight Home Studio Flash Kit (120VAC) by Interfit is my very first set of lights. The price is pretty incredible for what you get. A friend of mine who is a professional photographer was blown away by the amount of stuff that comes with the kit. It being my first light kit, the instructional DVD included was a huge benefit and helped me to really understand lighting basics and get familiar with the hardware. I would imagine that the higher-priced lighting kits are maybe put together with a little heavier material than this particular Interfit kit, but hey, you get what you pay for. It makes a great starter kit for any novice that wants to ease into learning about lighting without laying down some major cash.

We received this product in record time. The DVD that came with the kit was great in giving step-by-step live instructions on how to assemble the kit, as well as tips on setting up the studio to best utilize the lights.
Some of the reflectors were slightly bent out of shape, but with some manipulation they were easy to attach to the monolight heads. It would have been nice if the third light came with a regular stand versus just a short backlight stand, so that it could be used as a hairlight when appropriate, but we happened to have another adjustable stand on hand for this purpose. The other thing that is a bit annoying is that the handles for adjusting the direction of light are not super convenient, as you need to loosen them, adjust the light, and then retighten it (if you keep loosening the handle, it falls of).
While definitely not rugged for heavy use, I'd recommend this lighting kit for those (students) who are looking to experiment with studio lighting on a more professional level but don't want to pay the big $$ on professional equipment. The kit comes with a sturdy bag with handles to store the lights and stands when not in use. This will work for my purposes as a photography student at this time!

I've been taking photographs for many years. However, recently I've grown an interest in portrait photography. Having never used studio lights before, I must say the Interfit lights were easy to set up and produce spectacular results. For the price I would say I got more than I expected.

Comments about Interfit EX150 MK2 Three Monolight Home Studio Flash Kit (120VAC):
Great affordable way to get a starting kit with some basic tools. Very easy to use. I was also pleased that I was able to hook up my Radio Popper into one of the lights and set the other two lights up to pop off the flash of the first light. It did work with my Radio Popper and I could easily shoot unteathered and fire all 3 strobes at once.
Was able to effectively use the lights for family shots at a wedding with poppers so I was free to move around.
Bag seems sturdy to me so far. Just pack things in right and don't stress the zippers (as with anything) and you should be fine.

I bought this as my first home studio kit. It was easy to assemble via the DVD that came with it. Having never owned a studio light set up before, I can't compare it's quality, but was generally pleased for the price. The DVD talks about items that aren't part of the kit, but are available for purchase; so as long as you're aware of that, it's not a problem. The hooks for the back drop are rather Mickey Mouse - the kind you could purchase from [...]. So have a plan for how you will hang the backdrop. But overall, I was quite pleased with my purchase. I'm taking the first pictures tonight, so will see what I think then.[...]

Comments about Interfit EX150 MK2 Three Monolight Home Studio Flash Kit (120VAC):
A lot of equipment for not a lot of money. My original plan was to use the kit on location during the local Rennaisance Fair, but one of the zippers on the case broke the first time I unzipped it. Now it won't stay shut, so transporting the kit is now less than ideal. Now I'll mainly use the kit on site for still life, portraits & product photography. I'm not at all unhappy with the kit in spite of the zipper problem. I'd recommend this kit to serious amateurs or even pros looking for a small kit at a low price.

Comments about Interfit EX150 MK2 Three Monolight Home Studio Flash Kit (120VAC):
This is a good starter kit for photographers. It comes with 2 taller light stands and 1 shorter one. It also comes with 3 lights, 1 softbox accessory attachment, a snoot with honeycomb and light filters, a really nice gray backdrop, and sticky hanging hooks, plus bonus How-To DVD.
Please note this product does NOT come with Barn Doors, although the DVD will make it sound like it should have.
The only downfall is that it does not come with an adequate hanging system. It includes 1 pack of those COMMAND sticky wall hangers that are only rated to hold 3 lbs each (the packet only includes 2 plastic hooks). As the backdrop clearly weighs more than 6 lbs, this clearly is not adequate.

I have been looking for a good lighting kit for a long time. So I seen this one and chose this kit. It was priced right and B&H sales it. People have seen my new work since I got these lights. My part time biz has picked up. Con's the stands are a little tippy and the air cushion dont work that well. Pro's the DVD helps you set it up and shows you a little how how to use the kit. I have a canon XTI and the sync cords dont work plus I dont know how you could hook all three up plus move around. I use a speedy light to make them flash. it you dont have one I would buy the interfit hot shoe adapter from B&H or any would work I guess.

Comments about Interfit EX150 MK2 Three Monolight Home Studio Flash Kit (120VAC):
The kit came in just the way it was describe. Watched the included instructional DVD and set up the studio in no time. The tripods are quite solid for the price. All the flash lights work very well. The only down side is the syn cord does not hold on quite well to my Nikon D300s PC attachment. It fell off quite a few time while I was taking shots.

Comments about Interfit EX150 MK2 Three Monolight Home Studio Flash Kit (120VAC):
The kit is easy to set-up and you can be shooting in 20 minutes. The training video provided is very novice friendly and helpful. The softbox takes a bit of managing but once set-up you're good to go. Remember to purchase a hotshoe sync adapter if your camera doesn't have a sync cable slot which my D90 did not. I also purchased a wireless transmitter to work with the set but that did not work too well and I didn't know whether to attribute it to the lighting kit or to the transmitter.
