The VCI-300 from Vestax is the perfect digital DJing solution for anyone who needs a system with rock-solid stability, total portability, a professional build-quality, and tactile hands-on control. From its inception, the control surface of the VCI-300 was designed to be fully integrated with the included Serato ITCH software (Mac & PC compatible). The controls are logically arranged on the hardware to make complete sense with what's going on in the software. A high-quality 24-bit, 4 input 4 output USB audio interface is built into the VCI-300, so you will have all you need to DJ anywhere you go.
Many computer DJ control surfaces have a plastic feel to them, and lack the robust quality of traditional equipment. This is not an issue with the VCI-300, with its sturdy metal enclosure and rubber reinforced corners. It's built tough and ready to travel. The controls have a professional feel to them, and have been thoughtfully arranged so your fingers will have the right amount of space to turn knobs, etc. The buttons and touch-sensitive jog wheels are illuminated, and all of the controls are situated to mimic the flow a traditional DJ mixer.
The nice thing about a completely integrated system is that it removes most of the variables that technically plague many other DJing systems. You don't have to worry if the club is going to have a compatible system, you don't have to do any major rewiring when you set-up in the DJ booth, and you don't have to worry about your DJ software unexpectedly losing communication with your DJ hardware at a critical moment. Having everything in one box means that you just connect your headphones and laptop, plug the main outputs of the VCI-300 into the house sound system and you're ready to play. It doesn't matter if you're playing in a large stadium or a small living room, this DJ system is comfortable anywhere. In the event of a complete computer failure (which is something every digital DJ needs to consider), the VCI-300 features a dedicated stereo input for connecting an iPod or CD player that will continue to pass audio to its outputs without a computer. With the VCI-300 you can be confident that the beat will never stop when you're at the decks.
Serato is among the most highly respected names in professional DJing software. Their brand is synonymous with stability. The proprietary nature of the Vestax hardware with the Serato ITCH software takes their dedication to stability and ease-of-use to an almost obsessive level. ITCH software cannot be purchased separately, it is only available bundled with certified ITCH hardware. Additionally, all future software updates (that sometimes include extended functionality) are free of charge. The hardware and software combination provide the user with a "one to one" instant mapping capability. This means that the controls are already mapped to the software right out of the box. This makes set-up time almost non-existent, which is not the case at all with most MIDI controllers. ITCH is compatible with iTunes, and if you already have Serato Scratch Live crates, loops, and cue points stored, ITCH will recognize and work with them. It also features automatic tempo matching, beat sync, BPM calculation, color waveforms, cue points, manual and automatic looping, input and mix recording capabilities.
Just because the controls come pre-mapped to the software doesn't mean that you can't tweak the VCI-300 to you liking. There are independent controls for the torque of each jog wheel so you can adjust them to suit your tastes. The crossfader and input faders feature curve adjustments to suit different mixing styles. The VCI-300 was designed to provide a top-notch DJing experience from start to finish.
