The SmartAVI SX-500S Keyboard, VGA Monitor, Mouse and RS232 Extenders are a pair of Cat-5 baluns designed to extend these PC peripherals up to 1000' away from the CPU. Users can access thier computers from remote locations in homes, offices, studios, networks, etc. The SX-500S includes the SX-TX500 transmitter and SX-RX500 receiver and both are required to complete the extension between the CPU and peripherals. Signal is sent between the transmitter and receiver via standard Cat-5 cable and Windows, NT, OS/2, UNIX and Linux are among the supported operating systems.
