The 9" display and 16/20GB of storage was the reason to buy this model. I install an XP pro on the 16GB and disable the base 4GB.
Performance is good, the display is clear and much better then the 7" I had before.
I disappointed from the lack of the hard drive connector on the mother board on this model, preventing the HD installation in the future.

Hi,
I am using my Eee PC 901 every day when commuting on the train to Stockholm from Uppsala, it's a great product and perfect for studying on the move. I am studying Java programming and NetBeans runs great on this little system, it's also handy for watching Futurama :).
Performance wise it's not exactly a slouch but it won't set any world speed records either. Netbeans takes about 8 seconds to start up which is not bad at all. Boot speed is fantastic and highly optimised.
Another great feature is that the battery life is stupendous in powersave mode, I don't even bother to bring the power supply if it has a full charge sometimes!
I was not too impressed with the default operating system that comes with it however, as a "linux guy" I was planning to replace that with a gnu/linux distro of my own choice.
I do wish that Asus had gone with Ubuntu as the default operating system as I believe most users would find that much more comfortable than the supplied OS.
Overall, a magnificent product which I would recommend to anyone!
