I used an "old" 5th gen "Video" iPod and ripped most of my CDs and put that and lot of iTunes store music to have a 30GB jukebox! It also works well with my iPhone 3Gs and my wifes iPod Nano. Shuffle mode is a hoot too.
Works great, sounds great. Like most Bose products it sounds way better than you'd expect for a device this small.
I wish the remote integrated better with the iPod or iPhone menus and worked as elegantly as the Apple remote.

I'm not a tech person, but I bought this for our IPOD touch which we recently downloaded 3000 songs from our CDs too. It is very easy to use, the sound is amazing, and I love playing on a good speaker system our long lost music library. However I worry if the Ipod stays perpetually plugged into the dock for too long, will it destroy the battery like overcharging a cell phone. The plastic dock that attaches to the speaker system seems a little flimsy. It has not broken, but I recommend being careful with it.

We use this in the bedroom and in the kitchen. It is not really made to be portable, but at just over five pounds it is no problem.
I still can't believe the volume of crystal clear music comes out of this unit.
I purchased this as a present for my wife at a $70 discount and gave this to her early.
I have not been able to find any faults with this.

Nice compact unit but with HUGE sound. Base is amazing (only Bose can pull that off with the size of the unit). Easy to use and attractive with the iTouch and/or iPhone being on the lower level. Location of iTouch and/or iPhone also makes it safer you will not accidently bump into it and damage connector.

I was surprised by how small the Bose soundock was. I don't know why it just seems bigger in the photo. But the sound is plenty big. How does Bose get that bass response out of a speaker that small? They are wizards, no doubt. Great volume range and no clipping at high volume. Crisp acoustic sounds and great bass drum and snare/cybals out of the hig end. WOW, glad i save up for this sucker....let's face it, Bose ain't cheap, but they are worth it.

I knew the sound would be rich from the unit but overall it was much more than expected. The bass is solid and deep while the mid range is clear. The highs are good too. For a room and where I listen, I really liked it.
I would have liked to have more features on the unit for power but knew it did not have this going in. A cradle for non ipod would have been a good feature too.

These are the best sounding speakers I have ever owned! Most Ipod speakers are lacking in either bass, or rich sound, or are never loud enough when in a crowd, but this delivers it all and then some!
