I had a difficult time finding a bag that would accommodate my gear and be allowed on airlines as a carry-on. I have an EX-1, 17"MacBook, and all of the usual supporting peripherals (hard drives, batteries, shotgun mics, etc). I travel both domestically and internationally on all manner of jets and puddle jumpers. The CB-25 Revolution has been a perfect fit for my gear and has never been a problem for the airlines. I fits quite easily into overhead compartments of full-sized jets (e.g. 757, 747, 777, etc). I took a Delta flight on an Embraer 145 and the bag fit only after I removed the laptop from the front pocket. Still, no problem putting it in the overhead. The padding is ample and protects well the contents. Zippers are heavy-duty. Fabric is as heavy as a serious alpine backpack. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I use this bag as a day bag for my XHA1 on hikes. I am an adventure filmmaker and require a certain ruggedness to my products. While the design of the pack is good, I do not believe that it will stand the test of time on the trails.
In detail:
Access: You access the camera compartment from the back side. This is an awesome idea for when traveling in a crowded area such as mass transit when.
Shoulder Straps: Very thick (wide) compared to mountaineering backpacks. I find them a bit uncomfortable, They are also not thermoformed. The thick padding that they are made of is super-absorbent and will soak with water if it's raining. Adjustment straps are present at the top and bottom of the shoulder harness which is nice. There is no mechanism to move the harness system higher or lower on the pack
Waist Belt: Super bonus! Most camera packs don't have one and it is absolutely necessary when carrying the pack for a long time to take the weight off the shoulders and displace it to the hips. Unfortunately, the waist belt is way too high up. I'm only 5'6 and the belt sits above my waist line above my belly button. Doesn't do a whole lot of good there to shift the weight. Further, the combanation of buckles that are used do not make it easy to adjust the belt on the fly. Like the shoulder harness, the thick padding will soak water up like a sponge.
Exterior Compartments: There are two on each side for batteries and filters etc, one on the top to hold an SLR (or lunch or water bladder) and the padded laptop compartment. All of the compartments are lined with a tin-foil style material which, presumably would make them waterproof. This is why I feel comfortable holding a water bladder in the top compartment while keeping my camera safe and dry in the main compartment.
Built-in Rain Cover: Nice idea
Front Pocket: The open front pocket could be used to hold a tripod, I guess if you were to secure it with the webbing straps. Doesn't work with a large tripod.
Webbing Straps & Fit and Finish: This is where the lack of quality is really lacking. The straps are all of a really poor quality nylon which start to fray when you touch them. It is unfortunate that they did not choose something a little better quality. The finish work and stitching is also to be desired. Some of the harness attachment points are sewn on asymetrically (the attachment point for my sternum strap are sewn on at different heights on either side so my strap sits crooked).
In the end, it is unfortunate that such a good design was put into such poor production. This would do good for around the city, but will not stand up on the trail.

This bag has carried my snowboard + HMC150 & supplies to the top of mountains. Even without using the rain cover, my gear stayed dry. I've also taken it on a week long trip on an airplane... the large pocket space was enough for clothing all week. We camped on the beach for 2 nights, no tent, and the rain cover took care of any ocean mist through the night.
Great bag. Strange, but nice style. Hope it lasts a long time!

I've used this bag to transport my Sony PD-150 and accessories (mic, lenses, batteries, etc) while shooting footage in the mountains. Although the bag is large, it distributes weight very well, preventing me from tiring out too quickly while carrying my gear on mountain hikes and snowboarding trips. It's construction is very sturdy with plenty of padding to protect my gear exceptionally well. While hiking up the mountain, the additional straps also allowed me carry my board and other avalanche safety gear along with my equipment. The pull-out rain cover also made for a nice barrier between my bag and the snow when I would set up for various shots.
It can get cumbersome, and while carrying this bag on an airplane is possible, if you pack it totally full, it's difficult to use as a carry-on. The Cinebag labels also made me very wary while traveling, informing the world of what I was carrying. Since I carried the bag on the plane, it didn't bother me too much, although I didn't dare let it out of my sight.

This is the first true production bag I have ever bought, up until now I've always rigged normal backpacks to fit my needs. I bought this to be used as a production bag as well as a pack for work & travel. I am very impressed. There are lots of compartments to stow gear and accessories. The laptop compartment is well protected. I like that the padded dividers and tray in the camera compartment are removable for use with other types of gear or whatever. Best of all, it is the right size to fit as an airline carry-on.

This bag is certainly spacious and I have no trouble fitting my HVX in the main compartment. The materials chosen for the various sections of the bag are especially well thought out. Comfortable shoulder straps with good padding. Soft lining in the laptop compartment and the linings of the pockets are quite protective. I particularly like the way the section that for me holds the most valuable piece of equipment is stored closest to my body when wearing it.
I wasn't thrilled with the headphone slot at the top and really hate it on any backpack. I just don't want a hole in an area where I am storing expensive gear, leave that to casual school bags, but I see it as only a minor flaw.
While I still prefer to store my gear in a pelican case, this is an excellent bag for work in the field.

I needed a lighter weight camera case as my old one was a hard case that was bulky and only held my Panasonic DVX 100B and that was all it could carry. With this back pack I can carry my camera, extra tapes, boom mic and pole, tripod and a laptop too. The construction is good, lots of room and it even has a rain cover. The only thing I'm really not to sure of was the lime green accent color but after awhile it grows on you.

I purchased this case for a commercial gig on the west coast where I would be traveling from site to site over a week. I was able to safely carry my Sony HVR-Z7U, (took the mic holder and mic off), AC adapter, 4 batteries, 20 tapes, cables and my Dell Precision Laptop. Very well made and as stated it's bigger then you think. It was a bit heavy but the straps were comfortable. No problem with carry on airplane but need to remove laptop to fit in overhead on the 757.

Just returned from a trip across the country.
I put my HPX500, VF, Mic and one Dionic 90 battery in it. (lens off and in a separate carry on bag). It fit easily in the overhead compartment of a full sized plane. and put it under my seat in the small jets.
You could put alot more gear in it but it would really start to it get heavy.
I also cut the waist belt off, it took to much space and didn't really need it.
IT'S THE ONLY BAG OUT THERE THAT WILL FIT A FULL SIZE CAMERA!!

I just returned from a trip to Uganda with this bag and I'm very impressed. It travels easily in the overhead compartment of any decent sized plane and carries tons of stuff.
I carried my Sony EX3 with a Canon lens, a Sennheiser shotgun, batteries, charger, media cards, hard drives, 17 inch laptop, wireless mics, gaff tape, and more stuff without a problem.
I did have to remove the laptop from the front pouch on one super small plane. The case still fit overhead though.
The only negative I have is the ugly green straps. They add nothing to functionality of the bag and catch on everything. I cut the straps off mine on day one.
Most importantly, all my gear survived the flights, and a couple seven hour bus trips, without any issues.
It's the best bag I've ever used.

Bought to be used with my Sony FX1000. It is a great bag holds everything you need and is very well padded. My only complaints about the bag are that it is very big as a backpack, but that is somewhat the nature of bags like this. This issue became especially apparent when I took the bag on a flight with me and was given a hard time by the flight attendants for having a bag that was too big for carry-on. (Still was allowed to take it on the plane but some was annoying especially when people are allowed to take on two huge wheeled suitcases on.) Other complaint is that the laptop pocket isn't that well padded, it works but isn't that great. Otherwise it is a very good bag that I would recommend.

I am writing this on my first trip with this backpack. I have my Panasonic HMC 150 wireless microphone batteries chargers top light 17" Mac book pro and many other accessories. The backpack does fit into passenger jets top compartment. It is also a great fit for your back. I hiked with it for hours and it did not tire me at all. It does not provide a whole lot of protection because there is not much hard shell. The structure is soft so you have to be a little careful where and how your bag hits.
I am very happy so far.

I like bag since it holds all my gear in one bag. It looks like they are using some new materials on the shoulder strap and carry handle compared to my buddies who has the same bag. It feels much stronger and durable than his. Anyway great bag to carry your camera and laptop in one bag. The coolest thing , it has a raincover.

Great bag that holds my Panasonic 170 and then some. Nice padded shoulder harness and even more padded waist. The bag has a rain cover that pull out from the bottom of the bag. The hip strap is not adjustable in height but I guess unless you buy a $300 hiking backpack, it works fine for me. The camera loads in from the back, nice when on the road so nobody can get to my gear. The bag travels everywhere with me and it is holding up great

I have had two of these backpacks sent to me. Both had some type of manufacture fault, a front clip that was sewn on backwards and a faulty zipper on the main compartment. I would not recommend this backpack to anyone.

We purchased the Cinebag 25 to create a student production pack. The bag contains everything the student would need to go out on the field for a shoot: lights, batteries, camcorder, rain gear, dvcams, etc. Being able to contain everything into one bag and mark all the equipment with the bag number has made it much easier for the students to just grab a bag and go.

We use these bags for every shoot we go on, whether travel or weddings/events at home. They are a great fit for our XHA1's, audio, tapes, batteries, headsets etc. The one drawback to the bag is the neon green straps... and no, I'm not talking the color (though it is a bit loud). The top handle and other areas with this strapping has begun to come unattached. We do not put an insane amount of items in the bag (they should be able to handle the weight we put in them) and yet the strap on top is about to come off on one side. This was very disappointing as it began to happen just about 1 month in to us owning the bag. For the most part however, the bag has been great.

I wanted something to carry my Sony ex3 and my macbook 17' and something that can be embarked with me on national and international flights.
The product can fit the EX3 with lenshood attached but with difficulty... a few inches more( especially in height) would have helped my camera being more comfortable and avoid the viewfinder getting smooshed.
The bag has a lot of compartments very usefull and you can really put a lot of things in it, HardDisk, batteries, charger, radio mics ecc and it is far less bulky than other similar backpacks!!
The overall quality of the backpack seems good but I havent tested it long
enough to say more.
I would have given 5 stars if it had a little more room for my ex3...!
for smaller cameras it is a perfect backpack according to my standards!!

I have been looking all over for a bag for my HVX and Laptop and this is by far the best bag you can get for your money. It holds my HVX and all other equipment and it is very comfortable to carry. It has a lot of pouches so it gets heavy very quick, but if you just stick to the gear you need it is a great bag at an amazing price. I love how the camera loads in from the bag as it makes your equipment well protected. Best bag at a great price.
