Comments about Blue Eyeball USB Webcam and Microphone:
I've bought this webcam to hook up to my new Mac Pro. The video functions are only used for iChat and Skype, but the audio is sometimes used for Garageband input. It's got the best sound quality I have ever seen in a webcam, and it surpasses some standalone microphones that I've used. Also, it works easily with macs and PCs, with no drivers required at all.
The major downside is the lower video bitrate in the 1.0 version, which causes some blockiness in Photo Booth at high resolutions. However, the vagaries of IP video mean that this is not a problem in everyday use. A more minor issue is the awkward mounting required if you have a thicker LCD monitor, it uses a rubber tab that does not always hold the webcam securely.
If you intend to record video with your webcam, then this is not the product for you. However, for the 90% of people who only use their webcams to skype & iChat, it's quite a good webcam.

Comments about Blue Eyeball USB Webcam and Microphone:
this is a great design and sounds good, too. yet video is lame. I am using on 2.0Ghz Mac Mini and the video is 1-2 fps, resulting in choppy smearing images. there isn't a way to lower size from 1024 to 480 and upping the frame rate closer to 30fps.
unless a driver is released which allows for the preferences to be changed. Buy another webcam or the Blue Snowflake for audio only
