I use it when shooting outdoors in the rain. Also once in morocco in a sand storm and my camera was clean.

The fabric is very nice and it seemed to fit my Canon T1i very well although the small probably would have fit better. My concern is that the back of your camera will be completely exposed while trying to take a photo.

great for shooting in the rain but uncomfortable to use at times. can be a challenge to figure out how to work your camera with this thing over it.

This was lighter than I would have expected, which is a good thing. It attaches easy and works. I use this on my Lumix GH2, even with my 300mm lens. Now, this is a m43 setup, which is smaller than your typical DSLR, so size accordingly.
Even though B&H had a great price on this medium size, this product should not cost this much - which is why it does not get a 5 star rating.

Comments about Vortex Media SLR Storm Jacket Camera Cover, Medium (Black):
The jacket covers the lens and camera as described but it cannot be used (easily anyway) with tripod or stick (the cover is designed for a long lens; who hand holds a long lens for any period of time, particularly in the rain?) Also, there is no room for my hands to control the zoom inside the jacket (which might have worked if only there was an opening to allow mounting on a tripod). We don't get much rain here so I didn't want to invest in a more expensive jacket but still I'd have preferred one that draped over the back of the camera allowing for better access to controls and zoom with the ability to mount on a mono or tri-pod.

I already used it outside in a snowstorm and it was helpful.
It is large enough to accommodate my largest lenses but a little bulky when using it with smaller lenses in use. A good product.

I bought this to use with my 50D and 70-200 f/2.8 lens at football games. I had to use it twice. Once was a light sprinkle but the second time it rained pretty hard for about 20 minutes. The Storm Jacket worked great, kept everything dry.

Just got back from my trip to Alaska where I had to use the Storm Jacket nine out of twelve days! The jacket is compact for easy packing/storing, easy to use, and not expensive. The lens was completely protected. The opening for camera use is a little tight while using so a few rain drops did hit the backside of the camera. But overall I was quite pleased because of the price and my camera/lens was not ruined by the rainy weather---and believe me, it rained constantly!

This cover fits perfectly over my Canon 7D with 70-200 f/2.8 with multiplier attached. There is just enough room for hands to operate inside the cover in the back while not opening enough to let Alaska rainforest rain in. It does the job well, much better then my old plastic bags.

This will be very useful when we take our Alaskan cruise in a week. It is a little long for my Canon XSI but it will protect it from rain. The jacket is very well made and comes in a nice bag that can clip onto your camera case or fit inside.
