I use this product for clamping into monopod and short tripod as support for flex arm or any small accessories that has 1/4" or 3/8" male thread. Very useful in macro photography.
Pros: lightweight, sufficient loading (feels safe at 1 kg any angle)
Cons: limited clamp range for tubge - 32mm tube is the ultimate limit. Not strong enough and impossible for clamping cameras (see warning) - except point-and-shoot. Price alittle too high.
Warning: When opening up approximately half-way, the top surfaces where the 1/4" and 3/8" threads are begin to point toward each other, make threading flat surface impossible - basically any ballhead with larger than 2cm base diameter will not work. (mini-head for flash-only may work)

First of all, I agree with all the previous reviews and comments about this product. Unfortunately due to my personal experience with it I no longer have confidence in it.
Second, I own many Manfrotto products. Its my preferred brand for lighting equipment (Super Clamps, Light Stands, Flex Arms, Magic Arms, etc.).
Bought 2 of these clamps and found them very useful, seemed to offer countless uses. Bought 6 more immediately. The Nano Clamp seemed to be a must have in the camera bag...
I thought they would compliment the magic arm (with Super Clamp) when mounting remote DSLR cameras. They were to be used to mount Pocket Wizards(with pre-trigger cables) on magic arm and off camera strobes.
The defect? Female thread area is glued in place and the 90 deg connection. At first it seemed that the 2 metal pieces were riveted together. At closer inspection, I found the although machined in close specs, it was the glue that seem to hold it together. SO, as you ratchet the clamp down to ensure that your gear is properly secure, you are most likely stressing the glued connection little by little until failure as I experienced.
This was within a FEW weeks of owning this item. This item is rated at 4KG/8.82 lbs load capacity. It failed as I was tightening it to a bar. Nothing was attached to it, never got that far! I got lucky. Still in shock, no confidence left in this product and obviously very disappointed.
Trying to return to B&H for exchange for the although the more RELIABLE super clamp. Awaiting RMA approval...

Comments about Manfrotto 386B Nano Clamp - Supports 8.8 lbs (4kg):
I needed a clamp that could be used for a tripod, drum kit, lighting and everything i could throw at it. Well build and great quality. Very heavy duty and built to last. Im going to pick up more of them in the near future.

Comments about Manfrotto 386B Nano Clamp - Supports 8.8 lbs (4kg):
I finally found an inexpensive device to hold a flashlight on a standard tripod. The larger Manfrotto super clamp works well, too, but is heavy. Works best (as a flashlight holder) with a stand-off post (stud).

Comments about Manfrotto 386B Nano Clamp - Supports 8.8 lbs (4kg):
I use this in conjunction with an articulating arm to hold a monitor. It's a solidly constructed device. Only thing is that the rubber washer is cheap, and tends to squish when used with anything heavy (such as my monitor). Also, there's a lining inside the clamp jaws that slips. Basically, the metal construction is solid and lends confidence when you use to hold your gear, but the company should have paid more attention to the non-metal parts. I think I'll be able to work around the problems, and the clamp's sturdiness makes it useful.

Good quality, positive locking action. Will open large enough to barely fit around the main column on a c-stand (1-1/4"). Easily clamps to camera handles, tripod legs, and 3/8" tubing.

Comments about Manfrotto 386B Nano Clamp - Supports 8.8 lbs (4kg):
This is the perfect alternative to the Superclamp when you need additional mounting space on a camcorder handle or any other similar application. It's tiny, rugged and clamps down tight and secure. I even used one to mount a small camera to my bicycle handlebar to record video while biking. I won't leave home without at least a couple of these little gems in my kit.

Comments about Manfrotto 386B Nano Clamp - Supports 8.8 lbs (4kg):
I purchased these clamps for a couple of reasons - to hold my radio slaves to light stands and to hold backdrops to a crossbar to pull creases out. Perfect for both. Small, lightweight, and well made. A bit pricey for what I needed them for, but I didn't find any viable alternatives.

These are must have clamps for any Speedlight kits for mounting remote flashes where you can't get a light stand, or when you want to use more than one flash on a light stand.

I use this product to attach a small camera to the barrel of a gun. The camera is postion back at the hunter to record a close up view of the hunter. This product is very light and compact. It also attaches very quickly. Highly recommended.

Comments about Manfrotto 386B Nano Clamp - Supports 8.8 lbs (4kg):
We use the Nano Clamp to mount cameras inside transport trucks for road trips of up to 18 hours. They provide a secure mount that is versatile enough to give us a good camera angle without a lot of adjustment. The only problem we encountered was with plastic camera bodies, it is easy to over-tighten and strip the mounting threads.

Comments about Manfrotto 386B Nano Clamp - Supports 8.8 lbs (4kg):
I use this clamp to mount items near the base of a light stand. For my use the Nano Clamp works well. However, for larger, heavier items I would use the Manfrotto Super Clamp.
