Comments about Iogear 3.5" eSATA 3Gbps and USB 2.0 Combo Hard Drive Enclosure:
Bought this enclosure to backup data files from an old hard drive.
Easy to use and install.
I'm very much satisfied with this product.
Product packaging seems to be a little too bulky thou.
You'll have lots of things to recycle.

Comments about Iogear 3.5" eSATA 3Gbps and USB 2.0 Combo Hard Drive Enclosure:
I installed a Seagate drive and the hard drive's temp just continuted to climb. I shut if off at 57.
After chatting with Seagate techs, in addition to being told that's wayyy too hot, they informed me they don't recommend Any external case such as this one.
On the enclosure's website they list Seagate as recommending them.
Otherwise, it looks nice, just needs some cooling built in.

Comments about Iogear 3.5" eSATA 3Gbps and USB 2.0 Combo Hard Drive Enclosure:
Seems like a great product. A couple of little built in fans would sure help. I took a drive out of my system to install in the Iogear. Temps in my system were 43-44 degrees C. After putting it in Iogear temp went up to 57. The Iogear wasn't very warm...but my hdd sure was...it about burned my fingers when I pulled it out again. I left the side of the Iogear off and put a fan semi-near it which brought temps down to 49 but that was about it. I contacted Seagate and we had a chat about it. Their recomendation was to never use these type devices.
I guess we'll have to RMA this one...
Temps were while using HDDScan

Comments about Iogear 3.5" eSATA 3Gbps and USB 2.0 Combo Hard Drive Enclosure:
Took it out the box, removed a couple screws,
installed the drive and screws, plugged the ac adapter into the enclosure and ac outlet, then the USB cable into the enclosure and PC and clicked "my computer" on my PC the drive is there, that easy.
I have a 1.5 TB drive in this enclosure, run it all day and the enclosure only gets warm, and works flawlessly and quiet.
