At first I thought that I wouldn't get the same results as a fully developed HDMI Cable...my big screen TV from 2002 was one of the first ones to have HDMI capability and it wasn't until I got a Playstation 3 in 2008 that I noticed the difference between both of the connectors of the individual units. This adapter is worth more that most give credit--and the price is very affordable indeed. I would highly recommend this for those that have an HDMI cable but the connector on the back of the TV is actually a DVI type--it's very important to check the orientation of the number of pins as well as the styling before buying. Take a picture of what your TV has and compare it to what you need: no harm, no foul (^_^).

I had the Monster Cable version of this HDMI converter but one of the prongs broke on the DVI side, so I got this to replace it and I see no difference in video quality and it looks to be better made

One connector was used on a computer and the other on a monitor, with an HDMI cable connecting them together. The reason for this is I only had a 1.25 inch hole, and a DVI-D cable end is 1.5 inches.

I needed to hook up my computer to my HDTV. I have a DVI dual link conection from my graphics card. I then plugged in a hdmi cable into this adapter and connected it to my HDTV. After doing some tweaking I got my computer screen to show up on the HDTV. I would say the video quality is great, no problems caused by the adapter. It looks very solid and does exactly what i wanted it to do. If you want to do the same thing I did, please note (for this adaptor)that your graphics card connection should be "dual link", and this adaptor will work with both DVI-I and DVI-D connections.
