Iogear GKM551R Long-Range Wireless Media Center Keyboard & Mouse Set
The GKM551R from IOGEAR is an ergonomic wireless keyboard and mouse set that looks great on any desk. The devices have a wireless range of up to 33', thanks to 2.4GHz transmission technology. Simply connect the tiny USB transmitter to your PC or Mac and enjoy wireless freedom.
The keyboard uses a patented scissor-key structure for great tactile feedback. It also offers multimedia hotkeys for quick access to photos, music, and videos. The thin, lightweight design provides excellent portability.

I use this mouse and keyboard for my win7 media center PC. The keyboard has a sleek design and fits easily under my coffee table and out of the way when not in use. I use the mouse on the dark wood surface of the coffee table and it works very well. The range is more than adequate - I use it at about 15 to 20 feet with no issues.
One problem that I did have is when I would bring the media center PC out of sleep or hibernate mode using my media center remote control, the mouse would not work. This problem was fixed by fixing some settings in the PC BIOS, and in the HID mouse driver. You need to make sure that you enable settings to wake up/power on from USB mouse & keyboard. This should have been noted in the documentation, but was not.
Overall, I am very happy with this product.

Received this product and set it up with no problems. Both pieces were plug and play out of the box with no issues. Within one week of installation, the optical receiver on the mouse failed. Scroll and click still work, but the mouse won't recognize movement. Contacted IOGEAR, they issued an RMA but I have to ship at MY cost! This is guaranteed to be the last time I purchase an IOGEAR product, with the money I spent on shipping I could have ordered a nicer Logitech set.

The transmitter would not connect to the keyboard or mouse. Called IO for phone support instead of returning it. After a round of troubleshooting on the phone, they promised to mail me a new usb transmitter.
Will update post if I receive it and the unit works.

I use this setup daily. I can relax on my bed and control my desktop with the big screen 15 foot away without any issues. I went through 3 others that barely worked 2 foot away. Batteries last pretty long, I'm still going on my original battery in the keyboard since I got it(over a year), the mouse battery has been replaced once. Comfortable design, no problems, long battery life, this setup is excellent!! I highly recommend!!

When I recently switched to a MacBook Pro, I found that my Microsoft wireless mouse & keyboard worked, but the mouse was jumpy, which gave me problems working with photos. The keyboard doesn't have the same key config, so it has taken time to adapt. I purchased the IOGear combo and immediately got fast, smooth response from the mouse. The keyboard, however, is about the same as the Microsoft configuration, with addition of a "/" key where the left-side Command Key is located on the Mac. I'll probably get used to it.

I thought the range would be 35' but I have other 2.4 GHz wireless transcievers that may be diminishing the range. Better range than 4 year old Logitec wireless. Not as confortable as old logitec system. Great battery saving techniques.

Works great from a distance! Computer/Tv set up is over 14' away. No issues. Only downside which was user error -- After a few days use, I forgot to flip the off switch on the mouse. The batteries were dead the next morning.
I did notice that sometimes the mouse was a little jumpy.

We purchased this for our conference room and it reaches through a wall and about 25' into the room without any problems. We've been using it for a while and have not seen a drop off in functionality.
You can type as fast as you want, the keyboard doesn't skip a beat.
The only drawback is that the mouse occasionally needs a moment to sync up if you haven't been using it for a few minutes.

I had been struggling with regular wireless Keyboards for the past 2 years not having the reqired range with my PC hooked up to my TV using media center. The GKM551R is the Cats Meow!! Works great from my couch which is about 20ft away. Keyboard and mouse trun off when not in use to conserve batt. life and just a click or touching the keyboard turns it back on. The extinsion cable is not terribly long but it worked for me! You could always go and buy a USB extension cable. Nothing bad to say about it so far, only had the thing about a week so we"ll see if it stands the test of time!

Every thing about the key board and mouse combo works great. It took 2 seconds to hook up. Its not laggy and doesn't skip at all. I use the PC every day and I have not replaced the batteries, and I also like the fact that it came with batteries. The only thing I would change about the package combo p is make the mouse a six button in stead of the standard or at least make it an upgrade.
