Comments about Iogear USB 2.0 External DVI Video Card:

I have a laptop and wanted a Third monitor so I gave this thing a try and wow, it's awesome! I agree with the other reviews about it not being all that great for Video, but it is perfect to just keep that second browser open in view at all times and a couple of other programs, just don't do your Video editing or movie watching on it. WELL worth the money though! In fact, well worth four times the money in my opinion.

Comments about Iogear USB 2.0 External DVI Video Card:

I can now have two digital monitors with just a single DVI output. My docking station only has one DVI output and one analog. I have been trying to get away from the analog output without success. Finally, I found this adapter and it works great. The adapter is recognized at every bootup and displays my monitors the way I want them. I would definitely by this again.

Comments about Iogear USB 2.0 External DVI Video Card:

This is an extremely convenient add-on for the laptop enthusiast who doesn't have quite enough LCD melting his pallid skin. After downloading the driver for Mac, it was up n' adam, and functioned seamlessly as one would expect a monitor to.

        Two issues:

        1) The refresh rate is terrible. You cannot use this for video, or motion graphics, or even photoshop. It looks like 5 frames per second. I have been using it for more static information such as email, a calendar, and reference material.

        2) Connectivity: When putting the computer to sleep the "fade out" isn't quite that, it's more like an epileptic fit. Also, when you pull this monitor out, the effect on the system is unpredictable, sometimes resulting in a white background. This can probably be solved with a driver update, while no. 1 is likely hardware.

So, this is great as a quick fix, and I am generally happy with it. Increase the refresh rate, and it would easily be a four-star rating.

Used to add 3rd monitor to my system. Inexpensive compared to the alternative of replacing my graphics card.

I like it.. It works well.

Comments about Iogear USB 2.0 External DVI Video Card:

I bought this to try to display my computer on my Sony plasma TV. The Sony has a DVI input but when I plug it all together the computer shows a 640x480 VGA monitor attached but the TV says "No Input." I can use the incuded DVI to VGA adapter to view the computer on a VGA monitor, so the video card works, but it's not doing what I want to do. There are actually three types of DVI: there's DVI-A, which is an analog signal, same as VGA (which is why the included adapter works); there is DVI-D which is a digital signal, and DVI-I which includes both signals. Each kind of DVI has a slightly different connector. My TV has a DVI-I connector but it's really DVI-D so it only accepts digital signals. The video adapter has a DVI-I connector too, but I'm wondering if it is really DVI-A, which would explain everything. Looking at the Iogear website I see that other products of theirs are like that. However, nothing in their manual or website says anything about it, and emails I've sent to them have not been returned. So I'm stuck.
