Ideal for one small prime lens
Fits the following Nikon lenses (one at a time!):
20mm F2.8 with HB4 lens hood reversed (but not with the hood forward mounted)
35mm F2
50mm F1.4
Fits the following Nikon lenses (one at a time!):
20mm F2.8 with HB4 lens hood reversed (but not with the hood forward mounted)
35mm F2
50mm F1.4
60mm F2.8 Macro
You could probably also force the Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 without the lens hood, and without a filter (but with front and rear caps installed). However, I couldn't get it to fit with a filter, but that's not why I bought it anyway.
You can also fit a Gary Fong Puffer (broken into it's two parts) with either the 50mm or the 35mm, but not with either the 20 or 60mm.

If you have a large bag, this is unnecessary.
But it's well made, and holds my 100mm F2 Canon prime snuggly. No room to fit it's lens hood.
I use it to cushion the lens against anything else that I squeeze in my compact camera bag.
It also doesn't have any other way to be carried beyond the velcro belt attachment that is a part of it.

This is a great lens case for my 85mm f/1.8 EF USM Autofocus Lens by Canon. The lens fits comfortably and securely in the case and fits perfectly in my camera bag.

Bought it to put my Panasonic m43 7-14mm f/4 lens. It's a little tight but does the job and the extra padding's really nice compared to the OEM lens pouch.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 20 Lens Case:
I use this case when I'm switching between lenses. The lenses that I have that fits in it are the Canon 50mm 1.4 EF USM, Canon 28mm 1.8 EF USM, & Lensbaby. It protects my lens and is still lightweight and fits perfectly in all of my camera bags. It even has a velcro strap you can attach to your thin belt, or two loops you could add a strap or lanyard to hang it.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 20 Lens Case:
I bought this case for one of my small rangefinder lenses. I was looking for something compact that I can attach to my belt while I am taking pictures. The case is really light, but seems to provide very good protection for the lens. There are many sizes available so you can pick one that fits your lens. I love this product and I recently bought another such case for another lens.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 20 Lens Case:
I bought this for a 50mm lens, with the expectation that it would fit in a Bag. It won't fit in my bag, but it's a perfectly nice case, and could be strapped on to something, or just used for storage. For the price, I am certainly not complaining.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 20 Lens Case:
I purchased 2 Pearstone cases at the same time from B&H. The Onyx 60 is used for a Nikon 105mm f/2.8 micro; the Onyx 20 contains my 50mm Nikon f/1.8 lens. Although I have used Lowepro cases in the past - and they are good, I think that the Pearstone cases offer better fit-to-the-lens choices, better padding, and excellent construction - at somewhat lower costs. I like the velcro quick release straps, smooth zipper operation, light weight, everything. Really good cases!

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 20 Lens Case:
The Onyx 20 case by Pearstone was purchased to provide lens protection for my Canon EF 16-35mm F/2.8L lens -- to be stored with its lens hood reversed/attached to the lens. The case was well made and would have provided more than adequate protection for the lens and included many features that mimicked the more expensive versions. Hence the 4-Star rating and why I thought I had made a solid purchase.
Unfortunately, I ended up returning all my Pearstone lens case purchases to B&H Photo, not because of the construction or quality of the product, rather the fit was too snug to accommodate the lens with the hood reversed and attached.
I readily admit to being "OCD" when it comes to my gear and how things fit and/or work; if you do not use a lens hood or have no problem storing it separately then I would heartily recommend the case for the lens I have mentioned at the beginning of this review.

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 20 Lens Case:
The case seems to fit my Canon lens really well. It seems like the lens might even survive a short fall, but I'm not going to attempt it. Good solid case!

Comments about Pearstone Onyx 20 Lens Case:
I actually orderd two of the Onyx 20 lens cases; one for my Canon 50mm lens with a collapsable lens hood and one for my Canon 85mm also with collapsable hood. It nicely holds the 50mm w/hood but was too small for the 85mm. [...]Nice looking, solid construction, and I like the belt loop option. Price was right, too.
