I purchased this machine mainly for sending faxes but discovered it's also a reliable printer and scanner. The only minor discrepancy I have about the machine would be how loud it is during use. Other than that, installation was straightforward and so far it's been problem free. Highly recommended for faxing and basic home printing.

I recently switched operating systems from Windows and found that the printer I had been using would not work with Linux due to the manufacturer not supplying a driver for Linux. I decided to try a HP printer because they do supply Linux drivers. I found this printer for a very good price[...] I'm currently using Fedora 13 Linux and was happy to see that I did'nt even have to load a printer driver - it installed in this Linux automatically. Fedora 13 also contains an application called "Simple Scan" that worked right away with the scanning function of the printer. I would recommend this printer (all in one) to anyone who needs a printer for Linux. It's nice to see that HP recognizes the need for Linux support and supplies the necessary drivers.

I wanted a small all-in one printer because of limited desktop space. The HP3680 fit the bill. I searched on-line and wtih local retailers for the best price. BH price was about 1/2 of the highest price [...]I would definately buy from B&H again.

Bought for quick use as fax. Discovered great for copying, printing, scanning. Was recommended by friend who purchased year ago.
Was easy to setup. Quality of output far exceeded expectations.

I bought this as an inexpensive, compact fax machine. It is also a printer and scanner. I have it set up to make prints from my laptop wirelessly through Airport. Great compact fax for small home office. I would give it 5 stars but the printing is a bit slow.

I am retired and send faxes occasionally. My previous computer had Windows XP, which had a Fax console and allowed sending faxes from the computer. I recently replaced my Windows XP computer with a new computer that had Windows Vista Premium. I then learned that the fax capabilities were available only in Vista Business versions.

Fortunately, B&H Photo had an unbeatable price on the HP Officejet J3680, which provides print, scan, fax and copy functionality.

Pros: The setup was easy. The instructions were clear. Everything worked as expected.

Cons: Nothing yet. I have been using it for approximately one month.

I highly recommend this model for someone that is looking for an inexpensive 4-in-1 printer.

I purchased this device mainly to have a sheet feed scanner to scan documents of 10 - 15 pages to pdf format. While it is functional and does a decent job scanning, the unit is very slow, taking 45 - 60 seconds to scan a single page. I can not vouch for its fax capability, as I have not used it. The print cartridges are also unacceptably small; less than a dozen pages have been printed and the cartridges are already 25% empty per the software.

Summary: Extremely slow scanner. Extremely small ink cartridges.

Needing to replace my desk printer; I wanted a good deal, clarity, color and be compact. This HP All-in-One couldn’t be more perfect. User friendly; easy setup. Not only does it look good, it wasn’t noisy as I expected. I got an awesome deal; I would definitely recommend it and am purchasing one for my home office.
