The Convergent Design Flash XDR is a high quality DTE recording device capable of recording full raster video directly to CompactFlash cards. The device has a virtually limitless set of features geared towards the high-end professional looking to remove as many steps from their post workflow as possible. Features include 4:2:2 I-frame recording at 160Mbps and XML-based MetaData retrieval.

• Stunning Video on CompactFlash: The Flash XDR takes advantage of affordable CompactFlash cards, making it easy to record and transfer files. Gone are the days of needing to invest large sums of money into proprietary media; simply grab a few CF cards and you are ready to go!

• Mutiple Formats and Bitrates: With a wide range of recording capabilities the Flash XDR can be tailored to meet the demands of a large cross-section of recording environments. While full raster I-Frame recording is ideal for chroma keying, the Long GOP lower-bitrate formats providing extensive runtime.

• Spanning CompactFlash Cards: With spanning video files across multiple cards, the Flash XDR is capable of recording video for extremely long periods of time without having to dump cards.

• Pre-Record Buffer: Pre-Record buffer works by constantly recording for a few seconds even when the XDR is not actively recording. The moment a user hits the REC button, the XDR saves the any footage that was recorded seconds prior, assuring no important footage has been missed. This feature can be critical for documentary filmmaking, where subjects can be both uncontrollable and unpredictable.

• 24p Pulldown Removal: By using 24p pulldown removal users can take advantage of film-like timing.

• Durable Casing: The Flash XDR has been manufactured to take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Built from the ground up to withstand the demands of professional productions, the unit will always stay in the game.

• Retrievable MetaData Through XML: All video formats featured on the camera has the ability to store MetaData via XML markups.
