The RangeBooster N Router from D-Link combines the functions of a Cable/DSL router and a wireless access point into one compact device. The router allows you to share your Internet connection between several computers that can connect via the 802.11n wireless protocol or via any of four wired RJ-45 Ethernet ports. The router is also fully backwards compatible with legacy 802.11g, 802.11a, and 802.11b devices.
The router also features a firewall to protect you from malicious software that can attack your computer from the Internet, as well as wireless security to insure that your data remains private. These features make the wireless router a great way to add wireless access to your home network.

Comments about D-Link RangeBooster N Dual Band Router:
The technicians help was really hard to under stand with their English. The router was not a plug and play when connecting to a satellite modem. The router did connect to the computer very easily. I have a two story house and, the wireless connections works every where. Other than having difficulties with the initial hook up it works great.

Comments about D-Link RangeBooster N Dual Band Router:
D-link has been rated higher than Cisco and Linksys, since Cisco bought them. Thus I picked the D-Link. I thought I could do both bands at the same time, I cannot. You have to pick one band or the other. Currently I am testing the 2.4 and it works reasonably well. I was getting more problems from a neighbors phone and this seems to have helped. However I wanted to be able to stream movies on the 5 ghz band, you cannot do that without switching the software in the router. I will test the 5 ghz band after a while and run just the 5, but the 2.4 is solid and stable, easy setup, good security.

Comments about D-Link RangeBooster N Dual Band Router:
I use the DIR-628 to network two laptops, a wireless multi-function printer and a DSL router. Basic setup was quick and easy. Using the router manager software can get mildly confusing - different tabs open different options down the left that open different menus. Not hard to do anything, just easy to loose track of what is where the first few times through. Using the manager software to apply advanced network security was very easy. Haven't had a chance to test range capability, but so far it's been more than good enough for our two-story house. Very glad I choose this wireless router - definitely outstanding value for the money!

Home use for laptops..
Good signal... Powerful connectivity... One hitch was to get it started. Although I followed what was written in the CD to start with. It did not work straight away... Tried to hook it up as per the Quick guide. Seemed to work initially. But then had to make call to the Dlink company to start and then it has been working good.
