Well before I start this review I would just like to say I am no expert or professional when it comes to cameras. I am just your average spoiled 14 year old who likes to mess with cameras. Well let's get going with the review. I purchased the vholdr helmet cam sometime in early may [...] Well I quickly ripped the package open and was pleased to find a small box containing the helmet cam, an sticky mount, and usb cable. The camera is very simple to use with only two buttons one for power it up and the other for recording. To turn on the camera all you have to do is hold the power button for ten seconds and the leds should light up providing your battery is charged and the record button is in the rear most postion. Once the camera is on you can begin record by sliding tue record button forward towards the lense. You can tell when the camera has begun recordin since it will beep and the lasers will activate. To stop recoring simply push the record button to the rear. To shut off h camera hold he power button for ten seconds and the camera should shut off. To charge the battery use the uncluded usb cable to hook it up to your computer for charging. The camera itself is very rugged. I have only had it for one month and it has already been used quite a bit. I have testes its impact resisrance but accident sevral times and I am glad to say the camera is fine. The picture quality is also very good since the camera is capable of hd. Also the price makes the camera quite afordable for anyone looking into a helmet cam. The only downside is that the video files are avi and I can't use windowsa moviemaker tp edit my videos and I can't upload my videos to youtube. Other than that it is a great camera.

Comments about VholdR Wearable Camcorder:
..The VholdR is the best! I brought my VholdR on a recent snowboarding trip to Steamboat and it was a delightful device to operate in the cold.
Simple operation (one on/off, one record/stop slider) allows you to use the camera while you're wearing snow gloves, which is great. The laser pointers make sure you are getting the right frame of shot every time you mount, and the rotating lens allows you to mount the camera on either side if you need to....those are great features I couldn't find with any other wearable camera. The design is exceptional, and it's durability ranks a 10 out of 10 in my opinion. The software it comes with is mac & PC compatible, which is good news to me because I use a Mac (& none other!). The one thing I wish I could do with the software is be able to edit out the sound and insert music and graphics of my choice...
Thumbs up for sure!

Comments about VholdR Wearable Camcorder:
When I first saw this camera, I was skeptical on the video quality and durability of this helmet camera. After all, its tinier than a early 90s cell phone! However, after taking it on a couple of downhill mountain biking runs and some ATV cruises, I have to say that this camera is one helluva buy.Like I said, this thing is versatile and tiny! Its the perfect size to attach to your helmet, your bike handlebar, or on your backpack. It weighs less than 5 oz.! The video quality is great too! Check out the vholdr forums at their website, [...] . There are some really crazy and great quality videos out there from the VholdR camera! Its extremely durable, perhaps the best feature of this helmet camera. Ive taken some nasty spills on my bike with this camera, but did not encounter any damage/problems to my VholdR. Also, its shockproof so video recording isn't disrupted during bumpy situations. Its also really simple to use, so (while this may not always be recommended) you're able to start/stop recording as you ride. This is a great buy. For the price, its a great value for a high quality video camera geared towards action sport athletes.

I've been snowboarding for over 15 years and I've encountered numerous camcorders designed specifically for action sport athletes. I must say that the VholdR camcorder is the best action sports camcorder in the market today! Its super durable, with its shockproof design and super light! The video quality is superb, on the same level as TV-quality. The internal memory of the VholdR holds up to 100 minutes of videos; I found this to be extremely useful... I don't have to worry about breaking or losing external memory drives.
I used to own ATC2K helmet camera, but the VholdR blows ACT2K out of the water. The ACT2K design felt too awkward when attached to my camera. The design, video quality, and simple usability of the VholdR makes it the cream of the crop!

I'm a big snowboarder and as I've moved past the stage of falling down every other 10 seconds on a run I've always wanted to film a runs of mine, friends doing tricks and just outdoor footage in general. I'm not the greatest boarder in the world, meaning I can't rule out a few wipeouts here and there. Because of this anything that I have to use my hands for is completely out of the question.
My friends and I usually take a trip out west every year to board and when we decided on Whistler, BC I figured it was time to spring for a camcorder of some kind. I ended up purchasing a VholdR camera that I had heard about through forums and some friends. It couldn't have worked out better. This camera is about 4-5 inches long, and weighs next to nothing! I was able to mount it on my goggles with a mount that came with the camera. I ended up falling a few times but the camera was just fine. The footage was awesome though. It was a very clear picture and I got a good amount of video from just one memory card.
I really like the durability of the camera as well as the ease of use. There is literally one switch and one button to press and that's it. It's very convenient for me since I would otherwise have to remove my gloves everytime I wanted to use it, which is very tedious. If there is a negative to the camera it would be that when taking footage the microphone is not very good, so you get this obnoxious wind noise throughout. It's a small price to pay though to get some great 'first-person' action footage. Really looking forward to taking it out to Park City in January!
