For a Point & Shoot it has alot going for it, pictures have been great in most applications. I found the stock battery lacking, requiring you to buy a upgrade battery if you want certain features and longer battery life. This should not be the case considering the cost of this camera. - A big A+ Plus is the 4GB of Memory without any Memory card installed.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T700 Digital Camera (Silver):
The Sony T700 is a great camera, with too many features to list. We were really impressed by the excellent picture quality, just as good as our Sony DSLR, and the 3.5in touchscreen is just way too cool. The internal 4G memory is perfect and you don't have to keep up with those little cards. I highly recommend the T700 for anyone looking for a camera that fits in your pocket/purse without losing any of the quality of a DSLR.

Great camera. Picture is amazing. Only complaint, if I had to give one, would be that the touchscreen gets all dirty very quickly. Make sure you buy an appropriate cleaning cloth as the company does not supply one.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T700 Digital Camera (Silver):
OK, I did the research before I bought this camera so I knew where its weak points were. This review will confirm what you will probably read elsewhere. The camera's construction is solid. Even the front slider that covers the viewfinder and lens feels sturdy and it feels heavy for its size (not too heavy, but heavier than you'd expect). As others have said, the low light portrait setting didn't work at all. I got much better portraits using the Auto setting. The video quality was acceptable outside, but pixelated indoors. The touch screen interface was not as intuitive as I expected. Changing the shooting mode includes knowing which icon to touch, then you select an alternate mode, then click "OK." The pictures can be unbelievable (and I also own a Canon Digital Rebel XT) but they can also be horrible. So you take your chances. There is also a delay from the time you press the trigger and the picture is taken...not good if you have small children like I do...I've missed a few shots already. Also, the red-eye reduction (quick flash before the "real" flash) also confuses my kids (they think I already took the picture and start to walk away). They're used to the digital SLR that takes the shot immediately. The screen is awesome...it's like a little widescreen HD monitor. I take my pictures in 16:9 ratio so I get widescreen, but can crop to any size.
All-in-all, I would recommend this camera for its size (in case you're trying to get a sense of the size, it's about the size of a deck of playing cards) and as a higher end point and shoot in addition to another, larger camera.

We just got back from our vacation and the first chance I had to use the camera. I loved it. The pictures turned out very nice, both of the landscape, and the family.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T700 Digital Camera (Silver):
My brother had a Sony DSC T70 and I was impressed, so when I saw this latest version, I wanted it. Strong points for me are the large touch screen and the 4GB internal memory. I should never have to buy a memory stick. The photos I have taken so far are superb. The only ones that are subpar are indoor with the subjects farther than the recommended distance for flash. Be sure to buy an extra battery as I did since the large screen is a bit power hungry. My wife doesn't like cleaning the fingerprints, but that is expected with a touchscreen. I would recommend for anyone that is interested in buying a compact, slim camera which does not compromise on quality.

I use it because its so small and easy to carry in your pocket. The picture quality is very good and while there are many features they are easy to use. A better battery would be nice.

I baught this camera right before leaving for my vacation. Took around 500 pics with not having to worry about memory stick being filled up. On board 4gb memory is great for 1500 pics at 5MP. Colors are awesome but need appropriate light(may be i am still learning on how to use it). I left it on auto red eye, alot of good pics have caught red eye. Camera captures great details. Smile detector is cool. The way it is dividing the recent pics is great too. On screen controls work great with the tool provided with the camera. All in all it is a sleek gear.:)

[...] no problems at all. The Camera has all the special features you could hope for and the storage of pictures in the internal library is amazing. It's so compact but has a little weight to it due to the steel construction. The picture quality is outstanding even indoors and in low lighting. The one thing you have to become aware of is keeping your finger out of the way of the lens as it is so close to the corner.

My wife loves it. She really enjoys her photography, but she doesn't always carry all of her professional equipment with her. This camera is so small and easy to carry, as well as having a lot of professional features, it is a great 'in-between' from the really expensive stuff to the cheaper 'snap-shot' digital cameras. She uses this new camera I think more than her others.
