For the price this slate works perfect. I used Expo Click markers as suggested by another review and it wipes right off. The Expo Clicks are great to just put in your pocket without losing your cap too. Also can use the Expo2. Don't use the regular Expo markers as they have a different ink. Some people don't understand the use of the slate being semi-transparent. It allows for light to shine through the slate so the camera can pick up what is on the slate better. This feature became apparent on my last short I used with this slate. I also believe color on the sticks are for matching shots together for color. No complaints here. It feels sturdy enough for what it does and works perfect for me. Later I will get a bigger slate but this works for now.

It only took one editing session with multimike, multicamera footage to realize why such products existed. Try syncronizing a sound track with different camera angles and you will have one of these in you bag immediately.
Its small enough that you will not leave home without it.

Perfect clapboard for me. I produce commercials for small business and also short films. Small size very convenient. Theres also a magnet in the clapper part that I didnt know was there, keeps it from opening up like other clapboards.

Great little clapper.
I use grease "Chinese " pencil for date and information that I need for entire day production - can be easily erased with paper towel, and for takes I do use dry erase.

I bought this simply to do some video of my brothers interviewing our parents. Two cameras and a separate audio source. Wanted the slate basically to sync all the footage. Lo and behold, it worked.
I have seen some comments in other reviews that it was hard to erase this board. I bought dry erase markers and had absolutely no problem erasing, either with a paper towel or even my finger.

Like it, Love it, buy it.
The thing is really cool, small enough to fit into a Camera Bag, for on the run.
And even with Staples cheap dry erase pen's, there are no problem.
And a good price.

They work exactly as expected, no problem with dry-erase wipe off... although the engraved printing does collect dry-erase powder.

I wasn't sure I'd like the compact design, but it was more than sufficient for the info I wrote on it and easy to manage with one hand.
We sometimes travel for shoots, so the small size will be ideal for that.
The quality is solid and a good value at the price. I bought a larger clapboard from another vendor and it was way inferior.
I need to get a proper eraser. I used wet erase markers and a wetnap/my fingers to erase it. I need a process that's quicker.

I bought the click dry erase markers as recommended and they work perfectly. I actually would rather have the smaller size of this clapboard. I am the one doing the clapping and its easy to shoot and use at the same time. The color sticks are a great addition too. I was using them in post after the first shoot. Great product.

After very few uses, the marks applied with a conventional Dry-Erase pen cannot be removed, except by a combination of alcohol, intense rubbing, and a rubber eraser - and even then, some marking remains. The sticks clap reliably, but that's about all.

This is a small, but totally capable clapboard. The size makes it easy to fit in my Kata bag with my camera so it's always around.
It does what it's supposed to do - let you sync your cameras or audio and go on to the next shot.

Purchased this when a production was unable to assure there was going to be a slate on set. Its the perfect size for a quick slate here and there, but a little small if you are not in a pinch or dealing with a high quality camera. It gets the job done and can easily fit in my run&gun location package, which is really all I was looking for.
The magnet works well with one handed slating and there is enough space to write in/tape up the pertinent information for shots.
