Toast 9 from Roxio is a disc burning utility for Mac OS X that now adds support for hi-def burning to HD DVD and Blu-ray media. Whether archiving data, music, photo or video, or creating Red Book CDs or video DVDs, the software tackles all these task with ease.
Other additions to the feature set include the ability to compress, copy and convert video to watch on popular mobile devices, and to even trim unwanted segments. Streaming audio from any source can be captured and either burned to disc, or sent to an iPhone or PSP, with the ability to automatically add title, artist and other tags.
A dual-layer Blu-ray disc can store as much as 50GB of data

Toast can recover files with imperfections that have become unreadable due to damage to the discs (within reason). The recovered files are copied onto a new disc and a list of unrecoverable files is provided
The software automatically catalogs and tracks the contents of discs, making it easy to locate any file on burned discs even if that disc is not in the drive
Toast 9 will record audio directly from the Internet. Additionally, regardless of the source, if the Mac can play it, the software can record, edit and burn it
CD Spin Doctor offers great restoration tools for digitizing LPs and tape collections, or any audio playing on the computer
Audio fingerprint technology easily identifies and tags music tracks recorded from LP, tape or the Internet in addition to other unknown tracks in a library
Clicking on the iTunes button immediately sends the restored audio directly to iTunes in MP3, AAC, or Apple Lossless formats
AVCHD high-def camcorder footage can be imported and burned in high-definition to inexpensive standard DVDs for playback on any compatible Blu-ray or HD DVD set top box
