The Olympus Stylus 1050 SW Digital Camera is incredibly durable, sleek and stylish, combining rugged body construction with shock-absorbing materials and waterproof seals, making it the ultimate pocket camera, and a must-have vacation and party accessory. It incorporates a high quality 3x zoom lens and a capture resolution of 10.1 megapixels to provide beautiful images. Plus it is loaded with features to make shooting easy and fun. This is the SECOND Stylus 1050 camera I have bought and they both FILLED UP WITH WATER, shorting out the battery, destroying the memory card, and ruining the camera. The first camera I bought lasted almost a year -- long enough for me to have thrown away the box and the receipt. The second camera filled up with water on the FIRST time out. I just returned it to Olympus -- now we'll have to see how well they honor their warranty. In the meantime, DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!
It rates 1 star because the photos are fantastic. But the underwater claim is a complete rip off.

This is my husband's first digital camera. He did not have any problem taking pictures right away. It is small enough to fit in his pocket and not too small to easily use the controls. He will be able to take this camera on our boat as it is water proof. I also bought him the float strap in case it goes overboard.
