Internet access via a WiFi source on the ARCHOS 5 provides you with complete email access to all standard POP accounts, web TV and radio and Widget applications. And, if that weren't enough you can also instantly stream content from your PC without having to download.
In addition, with select add-on accessories the Internet Media Tablet allows for features such as surfing the Internet through your television screen or transferring analog audio and video formats to digital files.
- Full Web Browsing
- Browse the web in full width on the 4.8" (800 pixels) - just like you view the Internet on your computer. There's no need to zoom in or out to view the pages because they're fully displayed on your ARCHOS. Adobe Flash 9 video support allows you to browse video sharing sites easily. The ARM Cortex superscalar microprocessor in the ARCHOS 5 means that you won't have to wait around for pages to load.
- Full Email Application
- Once your Internet Media Tablet is connected to the Internet via WiFi or 3G+ network you can check your email from any standard POP account. Manage accounts from your PC, Mac or cell phone all through the ARCHOS 5
- Web Radio & TV with Optional Plugin
- Enjoy web TV and radio on the ARCHOS 5 without having to open the web browser and without having to deal with download wait times. You'll have access to almost 1,000 web TV and over 10,000 web radio stations when you purchase the optional Web Radio and TV Plugin.
- Widgets Application
- The ARCHOS web application, Opera, comes with fun widgets that can be downloaded for free for use on your ARCHOS 5. Weather and sports reports, maps and other handy information can all be accessed at a touch thanks to the Opera browser.
- Media Club
- The Media Club, on the ARCHOS 5 gives you a variety of options for accessing music, videos and games no matter where you are. View all the content from each site on a single page and enjoy the simple downloading that allows you to pause when needed. Chose from content on sites such as FNAC, AMC, TF1, CinemaNow, Vizumi, VodeoTV, Jamendo, Four/Music and MusicMe among many others.

- Watch all your videos, movies and recorded TV shows on the nearly 5" high resolution screen of the ARCHOS 5. Formats supported include MPEG-4, MPEG-2, Windows Media Video, AVI, Flash Videos and HD videos.
- Music
- With 120GB the ARCHOS 5 has enough room for all your music. In addition, the Internet Media Tablet allows you to create playlists, display album covers and browse the web at the same time. You can also connect the player to a set of standard speakers to enjoy your music free from headphones.
- Photos
- View all your photos on the brilliant 800 pixel screen of the ARCHOS 5. Create slideshows with background music and transitions without using a computer. With the optional DVR Snap-on you can import photos right from you digital camera.
- Games
- The ARCHOS 5 features several game applications that come standard with the Internet Media Tablet and the option to purchase other premium games from www.archos.com. Some of the standard games include Sudoku, Golf and poker.
- Content Streaming from Your PC
- Stream video or music content from your computer wirelessly and play the file without having to download it to your ARCHOS 5. Streaming from your WiFi network will allow you to play it immediately.
- Optional TV Recording
- With the separate DVR Station you can record TV shows or movies using the remote control. Watch the recorded show on your ARCHOS 5 or on your wide-screen TV.
