The AH-D5000 headphones from Denon provide superior sound quality in a lightweight and comfortable package. The magnesium frame keeps the weight down, while the adjustable headband and thick around-ear cushions provide long-lasting comfort.
Several high-quality components provide the best audio reproduction possible. Mahogany housings provide rich, natural sound. Mahogany is a very popular acoustic material because of its high integrity and capability to produce warm tones. The light weight also helps to make it an excellent headphone material.
Microfiber diaphragms faithfully reproduce the fine details that occur in concert halls, while an acoustic optimizer adjusts the sound pressure in front of and behind the diaphragm to balance out low and mid range frequencies and provide clear bass.
The high-purity 99.9% OFC copper cable has terrific transmission properties, ensuring a clear, clean signal with no degradation. A cloth mesh jacket provides protection and durability. The gold-plated 3.5mm stereo mini plug is compatible with a wide variety of consumer devices, while the included 1/4" adapter allows you to connect to professional-level equipment.

Comments about Denon AH-D5000 Reference Around-Ear Stereo Headphones:
I love the headphones. I purchased them several weeks ago.
The build quality isn't terrible, but I expected more for such an expensive pair of headphones. It just feels a little cheap.
I own the DT-770's as well, I like that build quality a little more. The DT's just feel a bit more sturdy.
I also am not a huge fan of the headclamp for these headphones. It is a bit to loose, not a dealbreaker but something to consider if you are used to them really fitting snuggly against your head.

I use these on my pc and they sound great.I compared these against sennheiser 650. Grado rs1,stax electrostatic and the ahd5000 where the ones for me. If you like bass youll love them.these headphone sound especially good with ,synthetisers, classical, jazz. But sometimes depending on the recording you might have to E.Q.the bass a bit.Mids and highs are great. They are very confortable and well made.

Comments about Denon AH-D5000 Reference Around-Ear Stereo Headphones:
I have used the Sony MDR 7506 for the last several years and was interested in finding a "better" pair of headphones. I had a chance to listen to the Grado SR325is at a local retailer. The Grado's are open-air headphones and I preferred the sound of the Sony Headphones. After reading some online reviews of this Denon Headphones I decided to give them a chance. [...] They are manufactured in China. I definitely prefer the sound through these headphones over the Grado. While the Sony is definitely a very good value, these headphones add a quality that I had not found before. While with the inexpensive phones you find the sound coming from "within your head", with these phones it sounds as if you are in the middle of music hall. Definitely worth a listen.

Closed around the ear, great for bass and clear trebles. Vastly better than my Bose and Sony high-end phones, fuzzy and squeaky respectively, and comparatively.

Comments about Denon AH-D5000 Reference Around-Ear Stereo Headphones:
I consider myself not as a true audiophile since I lost some high frequencies listening music over the years.
I became a heavy headphone user on my last 3 years
and since the I already have some IMES and full cams.
Actually I hear more than 6 hours of music for day. This Denon is my first closed full headphone and my surprise was amazing
It's recommended to use with a amp but it will work at good fully volume without the amp.
I use them with my cowon d2 and archos 5 without the amp and the music is real a pleasure.
The construction is super and the song got unbeliveble clean bass down to 20hz
This Denon was my best big deal on headphone
