Comments about Luminescence of Nature Press CD-Rom: The Photographer's Guide to Capture NX2 by Jason P. Odell:
This book was written for Nikon DSLR users who wish to manipulate NEF files. I bought it to handle NRW files created with a Nikon Coolpix P6000 advanced point and shoot camera.
There is alot of stuff in this book and I am just starting to learn it. It works well with my NRW files.
This product is very detailed. It's not just a series of instructions; it explains why one would want to use such and such features of Capture NX2. I am not a big fan of post processing. My post processing activities have so far been limited to cropping! But under Odell's instructions I have been able to turn dull skies into perfectly blue skies. The manual that came with NX2 is just a list of what NX2 can do and one has to understand post processing in order to use it efficiently.
What I hate about this book: The e-format. I find it difficult to handle at the same time as I have the picture on the screen. I would have preferred a hard copy. This e-version is cumbersome for me to use and I often don't want to bother. I don't find this book well-organized and it's hard to find your way, but perhaps it's this e-format.
