The Nikon Coolpix S60 Digital Camera combines 10.0 effective megapixel resolution, a 5x zoom lens with Optical VR Image Stabilization, Nikon's exclusive EXPEED image processor and an amazing 3.5-inch Touch Panel LCD Display in a sleek and sexy camera body.
The Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens of the Coolpix S60 provides an equivalent focal length of 33-165mm (in 35mm terms), and combined with Nikon's Optical VR Image Stabilization system, you'll get sharp pictures throughout the zoom range. In addition, Nikon's original folded optics ensures the camera remains slim and stylish while not losing out on image quality. The 1/2.3" 10.0 megapixel CCD captures the finest image details and Nikon's EXPEED image processor ensures that the data obtained from the image sensor is processed at high speed and with the greatest precision for high-quality pictures with stunning color and sharpness.
The customizable interface of the 3.5" Touch Panel LCD makes composing and sharing pictures easy. Then use the camera's HDMI capability to take pictures in 16:9 format and display them in an HD Pictmotion slide show, with music, on your HD television

- The 1/2.3" CCD image sensor of the Coolpix S60 can capture a maximum resolution of 10.0 megapixels to produce stunning prints as large as 16 x 20 inches, with sufficient resolution to show the finest details, and still crop creatively.

- The 5x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR Glass Lens of the Coolpix S60 delivers superb razor-sharp results with a focal length of 5.9-29.5mm (equivalent to 33-165mm in 35mm terms), while the unique folded optics system of the lens ensures that the camera remains slim and stylish - even with its excellent zoom capability.
- 3.5" Touch Panel LCD Display
- The 3.5-inch high resolution, 16:9 widescreen LCD display, has a 160° wide-viewing angle to make picture-taking and playback more fun and exciting, and intuitive Touch Panel control provides the simplicity of easy fingertip control over most camera operations. Plus the display features an Anti-reflection coating that not only enhances viewing ease, but also protects against damage and wear of the display. The Touch Panel display also makes Touch Autofocus and Autoexposure possible - simply touch the subject on the screen that you want to focus on and the camera automatically sets the focus, exposure, and will track the subject ensuring sharp focus and optimal exposure regardless of subject movement.

- The Touch Panel display enables easy operation with a choice of three different Home displays, and you can even write a personal message on your photos with the included stylus. All camera functions (with the exception of the on/off switch and the shutter release) are all accessed via the Touch Panel, and can be user customized to make it easier than ever to access all the camera controls.
- Optical Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization
- The Nikon VR Image Stabilization system incorporated into the NIKKOR Lens compensates for camera shake resulting in sharper images - even when shooting under unsteady conditions such as on a boat, and provides the ability to shoot at shutter speeds as much as three stops slower without blurring the image for sharper natural light images. The VR system even provides faster and clearer framing on the cameras monitor as well as smoother action when using the movie mode. In addition, superior noise-reduction ISO technology allows for correct exposure and sharpness even in low-light conditions, and Nikon's Best Shot Selector takes a maximum of 10 sequential shots and automatically saves the sharpest image.

- The Coolpix S60 incorporates Nikon In-Camera innovations including In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, Face Priority AF, and D-Lighting. The Nikon In-Camera Red-Eye Fix system automatically corrects for most instances of the red-eye effect that is commonly caused by the use of a built-in flash on a compact camera. The Face-Priority AF system automatically detects and achieves sharp focus on people's faces wherever they are in the frame for crisp, sharp portraits. The Nikon D-Lighting feature can rescue underexposed images or shots taken with too much backlight by automatically brightening the dark areas in the picture, while maintaining the brighter areas of the image.
- 17 Versatile Scene Modes
- The Coolpix S60 incorporates 17 scene modes that cover some of the more common difficult shooting situations to maximize the image quality. The scene modes adjust focus, exposure, white balance and other settings to make getting a good exposure easy. Simply match you current shooting situation with one of the Scene Modes and the camera will make the necessary adjustments automatically. If you can't seem to choose the right mode, the Scene Auto Selector automatically recognizes the scene in your picture and adjusts camera setting.
- Smile Shutter and Blink Warning
- Makes sure you always catch the best possible image when shooting portraits or group shots. The Smile Shutter captures an image at the decisive moment when your subject smiles and the Blink Warning will let you know when your subject's eyes are closed so you can retake your picture.
- Movie and Voice Recording
- Shoot QuickTime movies with sound at VGA resolution with a frame rate of 30 fps at a clip length that is only limited by the available space on the internal memory or your SD memory card. The Voice Memo Function Records up to 20 seconds of sound that can then be attached to an image.
- Pictmotion On-camera Entertainment
- With the Pictmotion feature, you can create sophisticated multimedia presentations right on your camera. Simply select your favorite images (up to 200 still images) and movies, decide on a style (5 styles selectable), and pick a music file (there are 5 pre-installed music files, load up to 10 music files). The Pictmotion feature will then automatically combines your elements into a professional looking presentation, using appropriate transitions and style that are synced to your music.

- The Retouch Function allows you to customize your photos - right in the camera. You can paint a frame, add hand written memos (5 pen colors and thickness available), attach stamps to a picture, and much more. The camera will save the picture as you have modified it as well as retain the original image.

- The camera includes 20MB of built-in memory, and the memory capacity can be expanded dramatically with Secure digital (SD) or Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) memory cards.
- Print Directly to a Printer or Show Pictures on a TV
- You can send images directly to print, without the need of a PC, when using PictBridge and USB Direct Print compatible printers, or connect directly to your TV for family slide shows and presentations. My wife uses it to take quick shots of wildlife, outdoor scenes, friends, and family. She also has the Nikon F60 SLR and Coolpix6000. The S60 takes sharp and clear photos. She like that she can carry the camera in her pocket for quick and simple point and shoot shots for quick pictures. This camera is loaded,it has more options than i could have ever imagined. The touch screen makes selecting options a breeze. The camera settings cover everything from indoor,night,outdoor,and snow and thats just a few. This camera thinks its a SLR, yet its compact size makes it easy to carry in my pocket. Plus it takes motion pictures just like a cam corder.
