The Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera blends elegant design and quality construction with high performance and intuitive controls and features. The durable metal body houses a 14.5 megapixel image sensor that is partnered with a 3.6x wide-angle Nikkor zoom lens with an equivalent focal length of 28-101mm in 35mm terms. Additionally, the lens incorporates Nikon's Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization, to overcome camera shake and ensure sharp photos at shutter speeds up to three times slower than would normally be possible, and also includes a High ISO of ISO 3200 for capturing images in low-light situations.
The camera features the EXPEED Processor that provides for high-speed operation, and powers Nikon's exclusive In-Camera Innovations that include In-Camera Red-Eye Fix that automatically detects and corrects red eye, D-Lighting which compensates for excessive back-light or insufficient flash in images, and Nikon's enhanced Face-Priority AF that can automatically finds and focuses on up to 12 people's faces within one frame. In addition the Coolpix S710 is equipped with the Smile Mode to automatically take photos when a subject smiles, and Nikon's Scene Auto Selector Mode, which automatically selects the right scene mode for the image you are shooting for trouble-free photography.
The intuitive controls and large and vivid 3.0" LCD display make it easy to compose photographs and allow users quickly search through images. The display has a wide-viewing angle of 170 degrees and an anti-reflection coating, so it is easily visible, even under bright ambient light conditions. In addition, the S710 comes bundled with the COOLPIX Software Suite for editing, organizing and sharing images. The camera is also compatible with SDHC cards, and utilizes a slim EN-EL12 rechargeable Li-ion battery, which provides plenty of power for a full day of shooting.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera (Graphite Black):
It is very flexible, it is great when use in manual and really reliable if used in auto for quick shots.
I'm really happy about it. Pictures are good focused and coloured.
I haven't found a problem till yet.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera (Graphite Black):
The first time I turned this camera on, I got a lens error. I turned it off and back on and it didn't happen again, but I was concerned. I thought it might just be because I touched the lens on accident or something. Apparently, this camera has lens issues. After searching online, the "Lens Error" is a common defect. After using this camera for the 3rd time, I received another lens error that does not allow the lens to retract at all, and the camera makes noises and shuts off. It was in a case before this happened, so I'm not sure why it happened. The photo/video quality was pretty good, but it's only good if the camera will turn on. This was my first experience with Nikon, but I will be switching back to a Canon point and shoot.

If your like me great "potential" opportunities always come when your not prepared. I hate to be without a camera and I don't always carry my "heavy" gear, the Coolpix S710 has been a great pocket camera for grab shots and scouting.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera (Graphite Black):
I took about 500 shots with this cam in just a few days at the SEMA show in Vegas. Overall the pics were great and it makes good movies too.
Only problem is I just sent it back to Nikon today because dirt found it's way onto the CCD. I have no idea how as I have treated the camera very well and haven't used it in particularly dusty conditions. One spot now shows up on all photos. The spot looks like a hair. Maybe it was left in the camera during assembly and migrated onto the CCD.
If camera is going to be susceptible to dust it should have a vibrating CCD so user can clean instead of having to send the camera back.
