The Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera blends elegant design and quality construction with high performance and intuitive controls and features. The durable metal body houses a 14.5 megapixel image sensor that is partnered with a 3.6x wide-angle Nikkor zoom lens with an equivalent focal length of 28-101mm in 35mm terms. Additionally, the lens incorporates Nikon's Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization, to overcome camera shake and ensure sharp photos at shutter speeds up to three times slower than would normally be possible, and also includes a High ISO of ISO 3200 for capturing images in low-light situations.
The camera features the EXPEED Processor that provides for high-speed operation, and powers Nikon's exclusive In-Camera Innovations that include In-Camera Red-Eye Fix that automatically detects and corrects red eye, D-Lighting which compensates for excessive back-light or insufficient flash in images, and Nikon's enhanced Face-Priority AF that can automatically finds and focuses on up to 12 people's faces within one frame. In addition the Coolpix S710 is equipped with the Smile Mode to automatically take photos when a subject smiles, and Nikon's Scene Auto Selector Mode, which automatically selects the right scene mode for the image you are shooting for trouble-free photography.
The intuitive controls and large and vivid 3.0" LCD display make it easy to compose photographs and allow users quickly search through images. The display has a wide-viewing angle of 170 degrees and an anti-reflection coating, so it is easily visible, even under bright ambient light conditions. In addition, the S710 comes bundled with the COOLPIX Software Suite for editing, organizing and sharing images. The camera is also compatible with SDHC cards, and utilizes a slim EN-EL12 rechargeable Li-ion battery, which provides plenty of power for a full day of shooting.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera (Deep Red):
I use this camera mainly on casual outings like get togethers with friends or family events where I don't want to lug around my Canon DSLR and heavy L series lenses.
I've only had this camera for a couple weeks and I love the 14 megapixels and great image quality. For some reason it over exposes by about a half stop on the auto mode and I'm not sure if that's just user error since I haven't read the manual yet.
But, on the other hand, I do enjoy the manual exposure adjustment which allows me a little more creativity that I miss when I'm not using my DSLR.
Cosmetically, this camera is just a little bit thicker than I anticipated but I would not consider it "bulky" by any means, and I love the red finish.
Overall, I'm very happy with this camera and the great price from B&H and I can't wait to test out more of the cameras capabilities, which are far too many to mention right now.
One last note, B&H recommends the Lowepro Rezo 30 camera bag with this camera, I went with the Rezo 20 and still find it a little roomy for this camera. It's a great little camera pouch though and I definitely recommend it.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera (Deep Red):
I bought this camera for my father. I have always purchased Canon digital elphs in the past, but was attracted to the features and quality of this Nikon. I was not disappointed. The wide angle, huge lcd, and programable settings are fantastic. AND 14mp! Love it. Only thing I recommend is getting a fast SD card (I got a sandisk ultra). The "normal" cards really slow down the camera when shooting in a full high resolution. A second battery also helps.

I purchased this camera with the Ikelight 6281.71 underwater housing to replace my old Sony Cybershot...and after using it in the Bahamas both underwater and above...it takes some amazing pictures, especially underwater...this is a great camera and combination...thanks B&H!

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S710 Digital Camera (Deep Red):
Most of the time I use this for snapshots of people, and it's great, especially with the "Smile" mode.
I also own a Nikon S70 digital SLR, and what I like is that your ability to change the exposure settings, the flash setting, and other more advanced parameters is basically the same in the point and shoot Shoot S710 as in the digital SLR> It allws excellent pics in action or low light situations.
