The Panasonic DMW-LW46 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion Lens allows you to widen the angle of your DMC-LX3's built-in lens. This lens provides a multiplication factor of 0.75x, and provides a focal length of about 18mm (35mm equivalent). You'll be able to get broad vista shots of buildings and landscapes. It is useful indoors as well, since you will be able to fit more of your subject into the picture frame.
Note! Requires the DMW-LA4 Conversion Adapter

Comments about Panasonic DMW-LW46 46mm 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion Lens for DMC-LX3:
As a beginner, I find this addition adds a great wide angle in cramp spaces while maintaining the quality of the Leica lens. You'll need an adapter tube - the DMW LA6 that has a 52 mm thread. I mistakenly purchased the adapter tube that fit the D-LUX 4 prior, but exchanged with no issues.
I'd recommend to anyone.

I use this with Fuji X100 & this conversion lens doesn't affect IQ. However, AF on X100 is not accurate with this conversion.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-LW46 46mm 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion Lens for DMC-LX3:
Just purchased this and the only minus was that I didn't know of it earlier. I would have purchased it when I bought the LX3.
The quality of the glass is good, but as with the LX3 you have to be careful with the front element since there is no threading for a filter.
The tube used to attach the lens can also be used to put on filters for the regular use of the LX3 without any vignetting, even at the widest of angles and this alone is a great plus. Now I can use polarizing filters and protect the front element with a UV filter.
This whole setup makes the camera larger and heavier but it still can be considered a pocket camera that can be carried around all of the time, if you have large enough pockets.

turns the small lx3 into a wide angle monster. great picture quality. where do you find another 22mm wide angle with 2.0 at this price? for an slr, a similar lense would cost you more than the lx3 and this lens together, and you would end up wiith three times the weight. great fun!

This was the last and final addition to my wife's LX3. Should have bought it earlier. We were in Athens a few days, there are several monuments there simply impossible to frame respecting verticals, without this wide angle conversion. It feels solid when unpacking, creates equally solid results in using it. Impressive piece of glass., looks beautiful on top of that (in line with the whole camera).
The only drawback is that you must not forget to make the change through the menu, to make the camera aware of it, or everything will be out of focus. Same when removing it. A matter of discipline, but altogether too easy to forget. Also, as a carry along object, needs some bag provision (it comes with a classy pouch), may become an issue.

I don't think this will ever leave my camera. Nicely made, it comes with a durable pouch as well. The optics are quite good, a little soft in the corners wide open but still usable. It is not as big as I thought it would be which is great!

Comments about Panasonic DMW-LW46 46mm 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion Lens for DMC-LX3:
I have used the lens a few times now and the image quality has been great so far. I have heard from others using it that they never take it off the camera now. For me, its a bit to bulky to carry around constantly attached to the camera. I bought the LX3 for its small size and would only take the lens with me for specific shoots so that I don't need a separate bag just for my camera.
B&H had the best price around for this too! Great deal!

This makes great images, it's easy to use and pretty easy to carry around. You have to buy the adapter too! The only con - and this is minor - is that it is slightly heavy. It's not going to wear a groove in your shoulder or anything and doesn't hamper use.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-LW46 46mm 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion Lens for DMC-LX3:
It is nice to have the breathing-room that he DMW-LW46 46mm 0.75x Wide-angle Conversion Lens gives with the Lumix LX3, and I was glad to see that the macro focus still works with the DMW-LW46 attached. The wide angle lens does not have a threaded filter mount, but I also purchased from B&H a Panasonic DMW-LMC72 72mm MC Protector Glass Filter, which fits very nicely over the outer edge of the front of the DMW-LW46 wide angle lens, and can be held in place with black tape wrapped around the outside edges of the filter ring and the lens barrel. This provides good protection for the wide angle glass, and the DMW-LMC72 filter even comes with a Lumix 72mm lens cap included. You will also need either the Panasonic DMW-LA4 Lens Adapter, or the Lensmate 46mm adapter tube, to mount the DMW-LW46wide angle lens to the LX3 camera. B&H shipped the lens very quickly, and it arrived sooner than expected. Thank you.
