The black Lens Cover for the Canon 800mm f/5.6 IS Lens from LensCoat covers the lens with a 100% closed-cell neoprene coat, offering protection from bumps, jars and nicks. This coat will allow you to blend in with your surroundings. It is ideal for nature and outdoor photographers, sports shooters and photojournalists. This version comes in white and is covered with a subtle pattern of leaves and branches to help camouflage the lens when shooting outdoors. This version comes in a matte all-black finish to better blend in where desirable. Or, it can be used just for its protection value.
A LensCoat Lens Cover also provides a thermal barrier, protecting your hands from cold lenses in lower temperatures. It is easy to install and remove, leaving no residue on the lens. It is waterproof, providing protection in harsh conditions.
As of 12/7/11 the LensCoat for the Canon 800mm f/5.6 includes an optional piece for focus ring.
