The EverFocus EDR810H/500 8-channel DVR is only half the size of a standard recorder yet boasts many of the features found on larger and more expensive units. Its small size makes it a particularly good choice for applications with constricted desktop or rack mount space or for those needing to frequently move it between locations.
Video is recorded in the highly versatile MPEG-4 format at speeds up to 120 IPS and is stored to an internal 500GB hot-swappable drive. Video can also be recorded to an optional CF memory card that goes right into the front of the DVR. When the DVR is connected to a network, cameras and recordings can be viewed from virtually anywhere via the Internet.
Another advantage of a network connection is the ability to remotely control a camera's PTZ function, something that cannot be done from the front of the unit. These and other much sought after features make this DVR an indispensable tool for mission critical security enterprises.
- Built-In Compact Flash Card Slot
- A built-in CF card slot greatly enhances the functionality of the DVR. It allows material to be quickly transferred to an optional CF memory card for viewing on a PC or for archiving purposes.
- Built-In Multiplexer
- A built-in multiplexer allows video from all cameras to be simultaneously recorded, viewed and played back by both local and remote Internet users with no degradation in image quality or DVR performance.
- MPEG-4 Recording Technology
- Video is recorded in the MPEG-4 format at speeds up to 120 FPS. Given its ability to keep file sizes small while retaining high picture quality, MPEG-4 is the preferred compression method for digital video recorders.
- Multi Image Viewing with Auto Switching
- Cameras can be viewed in full screen one at a time or in various blocks of up to 8 cameras on one screen. Switching between cameras can be done manually or by programming the DVR to auto switch between cameras at regular intervals.
- Network Connection with Remote PTZ Control
- By connecting the DVR to a network, cameras and recordings can be accessed from a remote network simply by opening an Internet Explorer browser. It also allows a network user to operate a camera's PTZ functions, something which cannot be done from the front of the DVR.
- 1 Hot Swappable, Lockable Drive
- Video is recorded to a single internal 500GB hot-swappable drive that can be secured into place under lock and key. This provides an effective method for archiving long term video material. When a drive becomes full, instead of having to overwrite material, a user simply replaces it with a fresh 3.5 IDE drive. It also provides fail-safe operation by allowing a user to quickly replace a drive that is starting to fail.
- Alarm Activated Recording
- Recording can be continuous or set to begin at a date and time or when an alarm is received. By doing a search based on those factors, a user can quickly locate a particular event footage.
- Watermark Authentication
- A watermark stamp can be applied to an image or series of images to prevent them from being digitally altered, thus preserving its legal integrity.
- 2 Audio Channels
- Audio from up to two cameras can be recorded along with their video. An internal synchronization system ensures that audio always remains in sync with the video.
- Watchdog Function
- A watchdog function automatically restores the DVR's settings following a power failure. It also alerts an operator to a serious malfunction, hopefully leaving enough time for an operator to replace a failing drive or otherwise remedy the situation.
