Lowel ID Light Lead Acid Kit, Cigarette Lighter Connector (12VDC)
This kit consists of the very popular and highly-rated Lowel ID dimmable Focus Flood Light with a 55 and a 100 watt bulb, stand and camera mounts, and cigarette lighter connector. Powering it is the compact, memory-free rechargeable Bescor MM-9C Lead Acid Battery. The MM-9C offers 35 minutes constant run-time @ 100 watts, and 75 minutes run-time @ 50 watts. It weighs 5.5 lbs (2.5kg).
The charger is an automatic universal charger, which takes up to 16 hours to fully charge the battery, and stops charging when the battery is full.

I really liked this product. I am using it both for video and still photography. I am mostly shooting children where I don't have a lots of time for preparation. I got mine with optional barn door and diffuser. I realized I need a handle too. So I ordered one. Great thing about it is that it has a dimmer & focusing control. It's a little too heavy for hand holding but doable. You can do a better job if an assistant is holding the light but I have to do it alone so I hand hold it with my left hand. If you are buying buy one with dimmer even though it costs $90.00 more than the one without dimmer. The battery (110v input and 12vdc output) included in this kit also has an automatic charger so you don't have to watch it all the time. It has a 15amp blade fuse (same like the one you use in most cars). You definitely need to keep a few fuses handy all the time because it blew twice on me yesterday. Once the battery is charged make sure you remove the cigarette lighter connector from charger to the battery first. Then you only you remove charger from the wall outlet. If you don't follow this procedure the fuse will most likely blow.The battery is about 5 lbs. and feels like a little brick. I am not using at full power all the time so one charge last for quite sometime for me. It may be different for you. NIMH batteries are about $90.00 more expensive but they are lighter and charge faster. Overall I am very happy with this product.[...]
