I'm primarily a wedding Videographer so needless to say long recordings are the norm. I shoot with the Sony EX3 and I'm loving it! I knew that going from the old to the new would be expensive but I figured the payoff would be the time I save by not having to digitize in real time. However, I was skimming one of the online EX forums one day and ran into a thread about SXS adapters for the use of SDHC cards in the EX1 and EX3 cameras. The moderators said they used these products and they worked fine so I thought I would give it a go as I was in the market for a 32gb card at the time. I purchased a 32gb SDHC card with the adapter and my nightmare began. I would rather not bore you with the details but I will say that I have two very unhappy clients because of this "system". I threw the adapter away and gave the SDHC card to my son to use in his $169 still camera. I shared my experience with an associate that was about to go EX and we both proceeded to purchase 4 Sony SXS 32gb cards. After many jobs without a glitch I trust this media 100% I highly recommend this product to any EX event Videographer.Of course I wish the price was lower but trust in your recording media is priceless.

I just put the SxS card into my Sony PMW-EX1R, shoot, take it out of my Sony PMW-EX1R, put it in my Mac Book Pro, transfer the media, and I'm ready to edit. It's fast and reliable, but I really wish the price would go down.

No hype about this product - it's the real deal.
Absolutely reliable, Sony deliver what they promised with the SxS card, a remarkable device that's easier to use and considerably less troublesome than RED media. In fact, there's been no trouble whatsoever.
Expensive? Sure - but worth every penny when the client happily pays you for astonishingly beautiful footage that didn't mysteriously disappear after on-camera playback - like with the RED.
Shoot, download, move on - the SxS card makes digital cinema even more dynamic than one could imagine.

All the Sony cards are great and well worth the money. I do wildlife videography and sometimes have to go long periods of time before I can dump a card. The 32 GB cards give me lots more recording time without having to carry a pocket full of cards. I hope to sell my 8 and 16 gig cards and put the money toward a couple more 32GB cards.

So,... I had a client I was shooting for, and I was using MxR cards, and I got a bad SD card... so I lost some footage. Most of the time the MxR and SD combo worked fine for me, and I will still use them, but luckily I still got paid, so I upgraded by buying a couple of 32gb SxS cards. I just used them for an UFC fight, and they worked great.

These cards have come down in price considerably since I first bought my Sony EX-3 Video Camera. A solid good quality card that has lasted many hours of shooting in the harsh outback of Australia. Well worth spending a little more on a card designed by the guys that make the camera.

Comments about Sony SBP-32 32GB SxS PRO Memory Card:
Check your camera firmware before purchasing or you'll need to upgrade. These cards will only work on Sony EX-l cameras with firmware 1.11 or higher. I found this out after purchasing 3 32 gig cards and the camera telling me it has unknown media, then checking online. You can check your camera firmware by powering up then pressing MENU, SEL/SET and CANCEL all at the same time. Scroll to IF to see what version you have. Mine was V1.05-0405.
You need V1.11 to use these cards. Good luck!

I have used this card for over cranking at 1080x720 30p, 35mbs several times and have had no issues. I have filled up the card to its limit and have had no problems. The card is read by the camera with no issues and functions exactly as I had hoped.

Comments about Sony SBP-32 32GB SxS PRO Memory Card:
I work for a large church in the media production department. we use a sony ex1 for many production needs. these cards become extremely important to have at larger capacities. we will go for several days with no ability to lay off footage to a hard disk so having a large capacity card is necessary.
