NEC NP905 LCD XGA 3000 Lumens Projector
The NEC NP905 is dubbed a "professional integration projector" which simply means it's a great projector for permanent installation in a classroom, auditorium or boardroom. Why is that?
For one thing it has integrated high speed networking built right in. It's got an RJ-45 (Ethernet) jack for wired networking and a USB wireless LAN unit as standard features. The projector even has its own built-in HTTP page for control and monitoring over a network. And not only is the projector itself addressable, even its remote is addressable, which enables independent control of several projectors.
Also built in is Closed Captioning (for program sources that provide it). It works not only to include hard of hearing viewers but also those learning English as a second language and everybody if you're presenting in a noisy environment like a trade show.
You can even make computer-free presentations by plugging in a USB drive and using the remote control to advance or go back through the "slides".
And if you're being subjected to presentations that are too long you have a secret weapon at your disposal: A sleep timer that will automatically shut down the projector after a predetermined number of minutes.
- 3000 Lumens and a 500:1 Contrast Ratio in a High Resolution Display
- That's plenty of projection power and the resolution is excellent: XGA (1024 x 768) Native, up to UXGA (1600 x 1200).
- Integrated High Speed Networking
- An RJ-45 connector and a USB Wireless LAN unit are standard features. Present from anywhere in the room when using a wireless LAN. Broadcast Mode allows you to send information from one computer to several projectors while data conferencing enables you to send information to the projector and computers. There's even a training mode, where the presenter's computer can be used to view information on a participant's computer screen.
- Remote Desktop Projection
- Remote desktop projection allows the projector to connect to a networked computer remotely. Controlling a networked computer is as simple as using a wireless mouse and connecting a USB keyboard directly to the projector's USB input. (Requires Windows XP Professional SP2 or later or Windows Vista).
- Silicon Optix HQV Technology
- Hollywood Quality Video is a high-performance video processing and scaling system designed for computer signals as well as standard or high definition video. The technology produces superior video processing using pixel-based, motion-adaptive de-interlacing to remove undesirable motion artifacts typical of interlaced signals. This processing brings home-theater- quality images to meeting rooms and classrooms.
- Picture in Picture
- PIP allows two sources to be displayed on the screen at one time in either a picture-in-picture or side-by-side configuration.
- Wall Color Correction and Advanced Color Management
- Wall color correction compensates for projecting onto blackboards and seven other board or wall colors. Advanced color management automatically adjusts for input type (presentation, movie, video, graphic and sRGB).
- Ready For Permanent Installation or a Trip Around The World
- NEC calls the NP905 a "Professional Integration Projector" meaning it's ideal for a permanent installation into a home, educational or corporate network. However it doesn't say where in the world that installation might be and a quick look at the specs shows you that you can use it almost anywhere. The NP905 can handle video in the NTSC (the North American standard), NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-N, PAL-M, PAL-60 and SECAM standards, plus it can handle standard, extended and high definition inputs: 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Its power supply can accept 100 - 240V AC, 50/60Hz. So no matter where in the world you are, your trusty NP905 can be there with you.
