The Lectrosonics LMa Beltpack Transmitter incorporates their patented Digital Hybrid Technology and an improved audio input signal path. The wireless beltpack transmitter is completely compatible with any of the Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid receivers and features a TA5-male input connection for lavaliers, instrument pickup cables and line level signal.
Digital Hybrid Technology combines a 24-bit digital audio chain with an analog FM radio link that eliminates compandor circuits and any associated noise. In addition, analog compandor emulation allows the transmitter to work with third-party and Lectrosonics 100, 200 and IFB series wireless systems.
An improved audio input features Servo Bias Wiring, which reduces overload and eliminates the need to introduce pads on certain microphones. Standard in most Lectrosonics wireless beltpacks are 256 selectable frequencies, versatile battery compartment that accepts any 9V battery and a rugged die-cast metal enclosure.

Comments about Lectrosonics LMa Frequency-Agile Digital Hybrid UHF Beltpack Transmitter (Frequency Block 20):
I use this for 'walk-and-talks' and sit-down interviews mostly. I just used it out to 250 yds with the UCR-411A receiver in a suburban line-of-sight environment with the 152 mic and it was the cleanest sound ever. No problems, static or drop-outs whatsoever. And Im sure it's capable of even greater range. The clip is nice and strong and hangs on to clothing well. Another thing i like, it has the cleanest on-off switch producing absolutely NO pops when turning on or off. Very legible and easy to use volume/Mod dial. Channel dials are recessed and nearly impossible to change accidentally. They need any suitable flat-head screwdriver (one is provided). Uhh don't forget those reading glasses LOL Another thing I REALLY appreciate is the EASY to change battery compartment. THANK YOU ! Just lift up spring-loaded bottom plate with your thumb and turn 90 degrees, pop in or out one 9V battery and you're done.
On the down side, I would say the process for changing Modes (100, 200, 400...) is a bit more complicated than it needs to be but, yet changing channels is very easy. The only other thing that might be on the down side is its weight when using with light or thin clothing could be a problem. But overall, it's outstanding!
