The high-capacity Pentax DL-I78 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery is compatible with the Pentax Optio M50 and Optio W60 Digital Cameras. It features lithium technology, which provides maximum battery life and maximum power. It also features no memory effect so you can recharge the battery when only partially drained without reducing runtime.

This battery takes the proper charge and holds it the longest. I have had the "others" and they dont hold the charge as well.

I decided to purchase the original Pentax D-LI78 since B&H offered it at a reasonable price. May be similar batteries from other manufacturers are equally good, cost somewhat less, and have larger capacity (= more shots). However, having already an original D-LI78 battery with the camera, I did not want to have surprises by mixing and matching different battery brands.
