This was the first HP printer purchased after switching to another brand a few years ago. Whether this unit was simply a lemon or the problems were part of the design is unknown. Setup of these types of accessories are generally a 2-3 minute process; this printer would not complete the setup on the first 3 tries and wound up taking about an hour. After printing 3 pages correctly a consistant "Photo paper tray not in place" error was generated, even though the photo paper tray was in place. Then the alignment check became a perpetual error, stopping all printing since it would not pass. On the odd occasion when these errors could be cleared the colors dropped out. Print head cleaning did no good. The item was returned to BH. It should also be noted that the warrenty on HP ink cartridges is from DATE OF MANUFACTURE, not date of first use. By the time you actually put a cartridge in a printer likely the warrenty will largely be gone.
