Delkin Pop-Up Shades are LCD screen protective covers, which double as glare guards. These sturdy, lightweight covers are easily installed (and removed), protect a digital camera's expensive LCD screen in the closed position, and pop up to provide easier viewing of the display in bright sunlight.
The Digital SLR Professional Shade is designed to attach to your camera using the existing eye piece and slots around your display. It easily snaps on and off, and features an optical clear glass to protect your camera's screen. The simple pop-up design allows for easy opening to block the glare. Buttons on the Professional shade are aligned with your camera, to reduce the wear and tear on delicate parts and components.

Comments about Delkin Devices eFilm Digital SLR Pro Pop-Up Shade:
I purchased this shade thinking it would help with viewing in daylight and would protect the LCD. I mounted the shade and the thrid time I opned it one of the blades fell off and the spring shot across the room. I never found the spring and without it the shade does not open. I would not purchase another one.

It covers the areas that need to be protected and the buttons work well. However, it pops off with the slightest movement which renders it useless.

Comments about Delkin Devices eFilm Digital SLR Pro Pop-Up Shade:
Since there were no reviews available when I bought this for my D3, I wasn't sure how it attaches to the camera or if it even works. I was also afraid that the pop-up LCD shade would be more of a nuisance than a practicality.
The product image shown on this page is the complete unit. The user first removes the camera's rubber eye ring and then snaps this unit onto the back of the camera. The Delkin Shade's buttons and levers align perfectly with the camera's; the only drawback is that using this device makes a large camera even larger. It also positions the eyepiece further from the viewfinder and this takes a little getting used to. I was relieved that the pop-up cover in the center can be removed from the rest of the unit, thereby allowing unhindered use of the LCD. The advantage of using the Delkin Shade is that it adds protection to the camera's LCD screen; the shade has its own transparent pane, plus it protects the back of the camera from impact and abrasion.
My main criticism with this unit is that it doesn't attach as snugly as I'd like. There is a slight gap in some places between the device and the camera's body. I also didn't like that I had to remove the camera's supplied eye ring from the viewfinder. Otherwise, this is well designed add-on.
