Comments about Lensbaby Composer Special Effects SLR Lens - for Pentax K Mount:
Lots of fun, turns the boring into the extraordinary. If you are not a fan of switching your DSLR to fully manual then this is NOT for you. The changeable lens system is easy to use (got the fish eye as well), but the manual drop in aperture disks are a bit of a pain. After playing around I pretty much settled on the F8 as an all round set up. The Sweet 35mm would be a better option if you want a faster way to get creative with apeture. Would have liked some markings on the body to help with focus.

I haven't had the time to use it a lot yet but it seems like a lot of fun, very simple construction yet very well made.

This lens is excellent at what it does. Definitely a niche product, but this is the one to get. (The Muse doesn't lock in a position, which doesn't make much sense when your focal plane is so short.)

Comments about Lensbaby Composer Special Effects SLR Lens - for Pentax K Mount:
My first experience with anything from Lensbaby - it's a great lens. It feels sturdy yet moves smoothly when changing the focus. I don't have any negatives on this lens, its everything i assumed it would be from online reviews. Another accessory I found unique from lensbaby which i bought afterwards was the creative aperture kit - Adds yet another affect harder to achieve via DIY lenses and photoshopping.
Every person who sees the lens and the photos ends up trying to find one themselves (although some go for other styles from lensbaby)

I have thought about buying a Lansbaby Lens sine they first came out. Now that I have one, I wish had bought it sooner. It is very fun to use and give you results that are difficult, if not impossibe to reproduce in camera. I used it to take pictures of flowers in the yard and of a car that I was trading in. In both cases I got images that were both fun and exciting.

Comments about Lensbaby Composer Special Effects SLR Lens - for Pentax K Mount:
This is the third Lensbaby I've owned, so I'm obviously biased. Really, the big trick is to practice. Now when I say "practice," I really mean it. Go out on nice days, on cloudy days, and plan to spend a FULL day each time just taking dopey photos of anything that will stand still. Photograph a knot in a tree, a leaf on a calm day, a pebble on the ground. If you're not really into it after the first 6 hours (or more), then this isn't for you. But it will take that much time over a period of a few days, to really get a grasp on what you can do with a Lensbaby. You need to experiment with different aperture disks. Later on, play with adding flash. (If you become a Lensbaby "freak" - and I have my weeks - you can later buy accessories!)
In general, a Lensbaby is not for those who have no desire to bother with "all those settings." If you don't understand what "aperture" means (or for that matter, if you have never shot in MANUAL mode), you will either learn or become very frustrated. If all you want to do is take good, sharp pictures, and you don't have the heart of an adventurer, this probably isn't for you. On the other hand, you just might learn that you ARE much more the curious explorer than you ever realized. I strongly suggest PLAYING with your camera in MANUAL mode before purchasing in order to build a solid foundation of what you can do with your camera. This will also help build confidence and understanding of all your camera's parameters before you add a strange and wonderful toy.
In the end, producing a good, interesting image is all up to what we allow ourselves to see.

Great little piece of hardware.
This gives photography another dimension.
Bought the macro kit along with it, seems to be added value.

The composer is a lot of fun, but you really can't tel thru the viewfinder quite how the pictures are going to come out - my suggestion is take a few shots of anything you're shooting at different twists of the lensbaby and hey, it's digital, so you're not wasting any film.
when a picture comes out it comes out great.
