When we first bought it and used it, we thought we made a huge mistake. It took about 20-30 shots in a couple different conditions to figure out exactly how to work it. It takes time to figure out the focusing aspect and if you have other than a full frame sensor you'll want to invest in the .42x wide angle. But once we figured it out, we use it all the time. It has brought a whole new dimension to pre-production creativity. Its great for landscape, macro, and stationary wildlife, but won't work for action type shots. We like the double glass the best. When we are in town or in some scenic landscape, my wife shoots the fisheye and I shoot the Lensbaby exclusively.

As a wedding photographer you are always looking for a new way of presenting the same thing. The Lensbaby Composer works well for me. It is actually pretty darn sharp and contrasty which I will say did surprise me a bit. I have used the Lensbaby 3G and did not care for it as much as I do the composer. The focusing is much easier on the composer and for me that matters.

I am not to keen on is the focal length. I feel that a 50-60mm out of the box focal length in this digital age is just to long. I know you can buy the wide angle attachments but I should not have to purchase them separately. If you put the Composer on the 4/3 mount there the crop factor is 2x's it is actually not that functional. Especially in a crowded area like a wedding reception.

I like what the Lensbaby does for my images and how it has sparked my creative side but to be fair, if you us a full frame camera this is a fun lens to have in your bag. If you are using a cropped sensor then you must treat it as a telephoto lens.

I am giving it 3 out of 5 starts because of the fact the lens is really a telephoto lens unless you buy the wide angle or super wide angle accessory, which after you shell out almost $290.00 for a lens gets to be a bit too much for a single use lens.

They need to address the fact that people shoot digital and make a out of the box 25mm or 17mm version.
