The MMX 2 from Beyerdynamic is a high-quality digital headset ideal for computer gaming and other multimedia applications. This USB headset offers plug and play compatibility with both Macs and PCs, because the driver software, stored inside the headset, automatically loads when the USB connection is made.
The self-adjusting headband provides a comfortable, stable fit for long gaming sessions, and the thick ear cushions provide a high degree of comfort and noise isolation, allowing you to enjoy the rich audio tracks that often accompany modern video games. A standard 3.5mm stereo plug allows you to use the headset with traditional audio sources, as well as your computer.
The flexible gooseneck microphone has a noise compensation feature, to provide clear vocal transmissions, even in noisy environments. A built-in volume control and mic mute button give you full control over the system. The single-sided cable provides plenty of slack, and also helps to keep messy tangles to a minimum.

Comments about Beyerdynamic MMX 2 Digital Gaming Headset:
The product gets a 5 - the customer service a 1. Regarding the headphone quality, people tell me it is radio DJ quality - I use these for recording video narration...so if that is your use...perfect.
Now, for the customer service. My headphones arrived without the USB converter - the very reason I purchased these for the analog to digital conversion. I needed it by the next day, so it was not that big of a deal (as long as I could get it) and nothing that a quick call to customer service could not fix. Boy, was I mistaken. So, rather than recount the entire conversation, here is a glimpse of what transpired:
--BH: it looks like that piece does not come with the product (better - oh yes, I see where that is supposed to be included, sorry your package did not include that)- I had to convince him (Lazer, was his name)that this indeed is included - how did I convince him? by reading the package, reading the website, and reading one of the customer reviews - but he still was not convinced
--BH: I can transfer you to sales to make sure that the converter is included
--BH: why do you need that piece (better - I'm sorry your order was missing that piece, let me see how I best help you) – I found myself explaining analog to digital audio signal conversion to this guy – does that really matter?
--BH: you can call the headphone company and get them to send it to you (are you kidding?)
--BH: you can return it and reorder it (my suggestion - given the time constraints that I am under, can you please send me another one with the USB converter and after I get that then I will send this one back? - I was told no – flat out no)
--this was going nowhere, so after 20 minutes, I asked for a supervisor--
--BH: there are no supervisors who can talk to you (really?, think about that one!), I asked for a supervisor THREE times, and never got one
--BH: I have talked to sales and we can send you, at no charge, another converter that is pretty much the same (me: can I have the name of it so I can look it up)
--BH: sure, but it is pretty much the same and we can send it next day (me: Yes, it is the "pretty much" part that has me worried – sure enough it was only the converter and not the mute or volume control.)
--After 45 minutes on the phone with Lazer, the resolution was that they would ship out another product and then once I receive that one, then I could return the defective one (that was suggested by me as a viable resolution 35 minutes ago!!!)
Please, someone give this man some additional customer service training!

Comments about Beyerdynamic MMX 2 Digital Gaming Headset:
I use the headset for various gaming and chatting purposes. I often prefer supra-aural over circumaural for comfort and so that I can still be sort of connected to anything going on around me.
Comfort: Great! Very soft but sturdy/non-cheap material, great size and shape. After several hours they are still comfortable whether I am wearing glasses or contacts.
Sound: Very very good. The best I've had from supra-aural (almost as good as my circumaural pairs that were all 3-5 times more expensive).
MIC: Works as expected. It's a mic, people hear me and don't hear other random noises. Thumbs up.
The only real con is that it comes with a USB adapter (so it supports both 3.5mm and USB) and only the adapter has volume/mute. If you don't use the USB adapter, you get no volume/mute control. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning.

Comments about Beyerdynamic MMX 2 Digital Gaming Headset:
I bought these 'phones for my Son, who spends a lot of time playing on-line games with his friends. He has gone through several pairs of headphones, all breaking in weeks or months. There are not many headphones with a microphone attached to choose from. I like AKG, but they don't even make one. I had never had a pair of Beyerdynamics and they looked sturdy, and the price was reasonable. The quality is very good, the cables are robust, and they have a very nice sound quality. Also very comfortable, resting on the ear.I would recommend them over Sennheiser at this price range.
