Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Premium Digital Gaming Headset
The MMX 300 from Beyerdynamic is a premium-quality digital headset ideal for computer gaming and other multimedia applications. This USB headset offers plug and play compatibility with both Macs and PCs, because the driver software, stored inside the headset, automatically loads when the USB connection is made.
The headset was derived from aviation technology, perfected for noisy cockpit conditions, and has been adjusted to meet the needs of extended gaming sessions. The thick, adjustable headband provides a comfortable, stable fit for long gaming sessions, and the around-ear cushions provide a high degree of comfort and noise isolation, allowing you to enjoy the rich audio tracks that often accompany modern video games. A standard 3.5mm stereo plug allows you to use the headset with traditional audio sources, as well as your computer.
The adjustable gooseneck microphone has a noise compensation feature, to provide clear vocal transmissions, even in noisy environments. A built-in volume control and mic mute button give you full control over the system. The single-sided cable provides plenty of slack, and also helps to keep messy tangles to a minimum.

Forget gaming - this is unbelievable for screen recording (with Camtasia) - superb fit, high quality, and best of all -- no power source required. USB works like a champ. Sound quality has just the depth I wanted (not echoey or hissy at all).

A bit tight on the head, but can be stretched out to be perfect. The ear pads also keep in quite a bit of heat after an hour or so of use.
The audio quality is absolutely fantastic. I have been going through my music library listening to old albums and I can't believe all that I can hear now. I never knew what I was missing. There is just so much depth and range to most mixes. Folks never get to experience it unless you have a good set of headphones or a very expensive speaker system.
Highly recommended for everyday use as well as gaming. Supposedly, the mic is studio grade, but I wouldn't be able to tell, since I use the mic just for gaming.
