This is a great camera to carry around with you for those times when you don't want to haul out the SLR. My only complaint so far with it is the fact that it does not hold on to the highlight details. Any image shot in contrasty lighting is going to be blown in the highlights. I have even tried to adjust by underexposing the image. Otherwise I am surprised at how nice the images are for a point and shoot. There is very little noise till you get to 800 ISO and up. Then you do get some blue artifacts and at 1600 a "grainy" overall look. Not bad, though, considering the size of this camera. It also takes videos which I have had fun playing with. The IS feature has come in handy in low light situations. My only wish is that it have aperture and shutter priority modes to make it a little more flexible. All in all it has been a pretty reliable little pocket camera and I would recommend it to my friends.

I bought this camera for my teenage daughter for Christmas. She mainly uses it for snapshots and for pictures to post to her Facebook page. She has found the video mode to be very good and uses it all the time.
I am a DSLR owner and so I thought this little camera would be good yet simple for her. Several times now she has had to come to me to ask how to do something or where a certain setting was. To be honest it took me a while to figure some of the things out. Grant it, neither of us have read the manual through though we have referenced it.
I guess I should have looked more closely when I bought it but I thought it would have some manual exposure modes like at least aperture-priority and shutter-priority, but it doesn't. It's all pre-programmed scene modes. Also, the shutter lag seems really long to me. When you press the shutter button you have to hold still for a while before the picture is actually taken. I guess I'm just used to a DSLR so these things bother me. If you use a point-n-shoot all the time it probably wouldn't bother you. It doesn't seem to bother my daughter. She doesn't know any different. I'm not trying to compare it to a DSLR because that wouldn't be fair at all. Compared to other P&S cameras it does at least as good if not better. It just takes a commitment to learn all the functions if you're going to get all out of the camera that it's capable of. So far, my daughter has not done that.
I had the idea in buying it that it would just top all the other P&S cameras according to some reviews I read, but it seems to me to be just another one in the sea of P&S cameras. I'm not saying it's bad so you shouldn't buy it. I'm just saying that it doesn't stand out way above all the others. It does a good job for what it's for. If you don't like shutter lag or scene modes then buy a DSLR as I did. If you want a P&S this one seems as good as any other I've seen.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Digital Camera:
The camera is very user friendly, however the lag when the flash is used it is quite slow! Landscape, family pictures, indoor pictures are great as far as quality. I purchased this camera to have a small one and not have to carry my SLR around all the time, and because it uses 2AA batteries so I don't have to worry about the camera always being charged.
Overall it is a good camera, just don't be in a hurry because it sure is not in one if you use the flash.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Digital Camera:
Already have a Nikon D70 but wanted something small but capable to carry with me that took video.
A well-known resource for consumer reviews said it was slow to recover from a flash photograph, they were right. I read it and thought, no big deal. But until you're using it, you don't realize that if you're taking action shots, your options are somewhat limited and you won't get as many photos.
Definitely get the rechargeable batteries because (2) regular AA batteries only lasted me a week, since I was taking videos too.
Be aware that when using the camera in low light and zooming into a subject, it won't come out crisp, even with the anti-shake feature. It's the way things are. Get the small tripod or increase the ambient light somehow.
Videos were surprisingly good and when the quality along with operating system movie maker tools are used, you can get great results. You don't lose quality when you pan fast and the anti shake is great too.
I think overall it's great for my purposes and handy for spur of the moment shots.

This camera is the right fit for me. Because of the nature of my picture taking I wanted good resolution (10 meg) but also good zoom (6x). Plus, I should say, ease of use.

It was easier to operate than I thought it would be. I liked the way it fits in my hand sometimes small cameras are way to small. The picture quality is very good especially for all the outside pictures that I take. Everyone who has seen the camera really likes it and seems to like it better than the one they have.

I use it for Business & Pleasure. Great camera, Easy to use. Feature rich. I am extremely satisfied. I also own professional Nikon DSLR camera's and I use my Cannon when I am traveling quickly in and out of locations, where I do not require to carry large camera equipment bag or lighting equipment.

This camera replaced my A75. Most everything was intuitive considering my familiarty with the A75. I like the 2 battery operation as opposed to 4 batteries. The software loaded easily and the 10mp beats the 3mp I was used to. I like the optical zoom and being able to review my pix without turning the power on and needlesly extending the lens.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Digital Camera:
I searched for two weeks to find a digital camera that has higher mega pixel and has a good optical zoom but with the price limit. With that criteria, I found Powershot A2000IS is the only option to me.
This camera is of smart design, good picture quality and there is support modifying the captured images.
Again it is operated by AA NiMH Battery which is a very good option for me to consider.
Overall, I used for one month and I can say that I am satisfied with its performance.

Compact, easy to use with reliable results.
Good for semi pro on the run (manual) and for inexperienced users as well.(Auto)
Use NiMH batteries especially if you use the flash. This will help reduce the lag time.
Optical zoom is good but a little too fast moving.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Digital Camera:
Takes great pics as you would expect from Canon. Like how it can tell the orientation of the camera for displaying pics. Face recognition and auto red eye fix is very cool. Wish it held 4 AA batteries like the previous Canon I owned. It takes too long to recover for the next shot, especially when the flash is used. Still would recommend it though.

This camera has been great for pics of our diverse family interests, from family events to action sports, animal safaris and lots of travel. Compact with enough automatic settings to cover everyone's interests. Picture quality is good, very easy to learn to use. Not as good as we'd hoped at night, but maybe we just need more practice.

This is my 4th PowerShot Camera,so I am a big fan of Canon. I wanted something portable that I could keep in my purse, yet I did not want to deviate from the PowerShot features that I have come to know from my A620. Easy to use with a big 3" screen. It only needs 2 AA batteries. Perfect for my simple needs.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Digital Camera:
I bought this as a point-and shoot and could use it right out of the box with great results. After reading the manual, I discovered it is a very capable camera; it does not allow manual operation, but there are so many options available that there is very little you may wish for. Operating menu is simple to use. I do miss an optical viewfinder and have had trouble with using the LCD display at an angle. Slow in low light situations. To sum up: very easy to use, excellent quality pictures, lightweight and pocketable. Would recomend it to casual users as well as enthusiasts and pros.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Digital Camera:
This is a replacement camera for me - my previous one of this model was stolen. It's smaller and has a higher zoom than most cameras at this price point and pixel size - battery life is excellent. Suggest putting a screen protector on rear screen to avoid scratches. Excellent macro and focus in auto mode. Videos are certainly good enough for Youtube el al. For the price it's a good value - highly recommended.

Just what my daughter wanted: a 3" LCD, better than average zoom (good macro too), easy to use with a choice of more advanced features. A great value and uses only 2 AA batteries.
LCD panel can some times be hard to see in bright sunlight, no viewfinder.
