Since most commercial radio today is a vast wasteland, the ability to receive internet radio this conveniently is a blessing. I am an avid listener to NPR and this radio allows me to access NPR stations from all over the country. The only negative I have found is the inability to play podcasts, even though the web site that you use to program your stations does have an option for podcasts. I am hoping that this will be available in the future.

This wifi radio does all that it claims to do. The drawbacks are that the clock light can be turned off but does not dim. It is too bright for a bedside light but you can't read the clock or navigate through the stations with the light off. The other difficulty is that it is very difficult to change stations. There are no pre-set station buttons.

I have not had a chance to fully test this thing but it seems to do what it says it does. I can listen to internet radio, I can stream music from my mp3 collection. It handles basic encryption WEP and WPA no problem. The interface is pretty simple and there is a remote as well. It sounds great hooked to my surround sound amp. You can use it as a media server.

I did not succed to connect it to a wireless network... I tried 3 of them!
It did work though on a wired network.
The interface is clumsy...
The radio stations are not up to date as on the Vtuner website!

I also own the discontinued Sanyo R227, needed another radio for my Condo. The Sanyo Stereo speakers are a bit nicer but this unit has very good sound from it's mono speaker. Both web interfaces work well but the Aluratek is easier to use than the Receiva site of the Sanyo. The one knock I have against both units is the wireless is LTD in range compared to my netbooks.

Just set it on my nightstand, read instructions and now I have coutless options for bedside entertainment. Virtually any sporting event, variety of news stations not to mention any genre of music you could imagine. Sound is OK, with outputs allowing you to upgrade sound with inexpensive PC soundsystems. Memory feature is absolutely necessary because so many stations available. Controls are a little clumsy to operate, it takes some learning and reference to owners manual. "If all else fails, read the directions" definitely applies to this clock radio. The learning curve is certainly worth the effort. Internet radio at your fingertips in such a small, inexpensive package.

This thing is loaded! Still learning all the options. Clock radio feature is very interesting and getting better as I learn how to set it up. Large learning curve. No battery back up, but it doesn't need one. It can set the time via web and the alarm settings stay in tact when power is lost (brown outs, etc). At first I thought that setting alarm was tedious, but it follows a logical progression. Internet radio is through "V-Tuner" with about 11,000 stations worldwide. It even picks up some police scanner, etc., stuff! The USB input is nice for listening to your favorite mp3s. Still haven't had success streaming from my music library on my computers, but I believe that's a problem with the computer sharing settings. There are outputs via headphone jack (external computer speakers), and RCA for home audio connections. For the price, this thing is packed. Some may consider it overkill, but considering what the competition has for a similar price, this is worlds ahead. Oh, the internal speaker is just ok....recommend external speakers via above connections. Remote is a nice touch. Back to the alarm....it does have two alarm settings. I found it hard to find that out via the documentation. This is not for the impatient or non technical folks unless they have a partner who is, and can "set it up" for them. I'm a geek and I love it!

I have used this internet radio in my garage and kitchen for over 5 months now and I love it. My wife and I bought a second unit for our bedroom and we wake up each morning to Beethoven only station. The LCD screen can be dimmed so you control the brightness. 11K stations is alot of stations so once you find a gem, be sure to store it in the favorite folder. I can spend countless hours exploring stations all around the world with over 150 countries represented. The best of all there is no monthly fees unlike Satelite radio. I recommend this to anyone that likes music or talk radio. The design is sleek and sound quality excellent.
